There are just some albums that complement Winter (Portishead) and some (Texas) that complement Summer. Sharleen's warm breezy vocals yet again are wonderful on the follow up to the successful CD "White On Blonde". In fact "When We Are Together" has a similar style to "White On Blonde". However, the rest of album is a progression from the previous album. "Sunday Afternoon" and "Move In" are beautiful subtle tracks whilst "Summer Son" and "Saint" are a little more funky without losing any of the impact of Sharleen's vocals.
If I was to be hyper-critical at times the production is almost too slick at times.
Without meaning to sound derogatory this is perfect lazy Summertime coffee table music!
