Linkin Park (Chester Bennington, Rob Bourdon, Brad Delson, Joseph Hahn, Mike Shinoda) are new on the rock scene with this their first album but they had a previous band called Hybrid Theory. Their music contains hip hop/rap/soft rock and hard rock. An ace combination of styles! I was introduced to their brilliant music when my sister (hakkved) bought this album and I loved it straight away. Linkin Park is now my favourite band, which is a hard thing to do because I like so many bands in rock.
Track 1 - Papercut
This track is excellent just like every one on this album! It’s about someone who is paranoid about someone who’s watching them even when they close their eyes they could still see a face watching them all the time and they can hear the watcher’s voice in their mind. It’s all put together perfectly and you can listen to it over and over again.

2 - One Step Closer
This is also put together perfectly and it’s about someone who’s just about to go mad because of someone else putting them down all the time. This track is more hard rock and shouting feelings out.
Track 3 – With You
This track is about a guy who had a girlfriend who left and didn’t come back. She had promised the guy that she loved him and wouldn’t leave him. The guy is really cut up, depressed and thinking of her. This rap/hip hop/hard rock track is full of anger but at the same time unhappiness.
Track 4 – Points of Authority
This track is about taking authority over somebody. Chester’s lyrics are about taking control of someone else and putting them down while acting if they are the only thing that matters. Thinking that they are never wrong. The victim is getting really annoyed at this and letting anger out of his system. This great track contains rap and hard rock. Just like the last track it’s about anger and vigour.
Track 5 - Crawling
Depression is the main story for this track and it’s making this guy feel weird and not in control of his life. This track has slightly more depth and meaning to it. It contains more soft rock than anything else.
Track 6 – Runaway
Obviously by the name it’s about running away from something maybe stress but I’m not exactly sure! This track is full of heavy rock anger and you can go crazy with it.
Track 7 – By Myself
It’s about someone trying hard to make it in life but gets knocked back all the time and can’t take it anymore. This has a mixture of hiphop and hard rock.
Track 8 – In The End
Again this is about someone trying to have a decent life but in the end they just lose it and don’t care about anything anymore. This song can almost make you cry and that’s part of the reason why it’s so good. It contains hiphop and soft rock. It has to be one of the best songs I’ve ever heard.
Track 9 – A Place For My Head
I’m not quite sure what this track is about but I think it’s about someone getting annoyed at someone else for being bigheaded. This is all rap hiphop rock and I think it’s great because the rap is put together excellently with the rock.
Track 10 – Forgotten
Again with this track I wasn’t sure what it meant. It might be someone who lives on their own and has been forgotten. It contains rap/hiphop/hard rock and a little bit of soft rock. This mixture makes it brilliant.
Track 11 – Cure For The Itch
This song is exceptional! It’s electronic, it’s got bass, and it’s got beats. That’s what makes it BRILLIANT.
Track 12 – Pushing Me Away
This is another song that has to be one of the best. The meaning of this one is quite strange but it’s got something to do with a relationship. The guy tries to like the woman but he doesn’t really and fakes it for her benefit. At the end he finds out that she didn’t like him anyway! This one is quite emotional and is mostly soft rock with a touch of heavy rock.
THIS IS AN EXCELLENT ALBUM AND I THINK EVERY PERSON WHO LIKES ROCK SHOULD BUY IT! All the songs on this album are (I think) about past experiences Linkin Park members or someone they know has gone through. Then again it could be relating to anyone in this world!

Agree completely. More music info needed tho to really get everyone to listen to this fantastic album. By the way do you like Disturbed, got an album called 'The Sickness'. Check it out.
