...or do they?
I think so! But what is this opinion actually about? Quite simply, about the ingenious album Hybrid Theory of the still more ingenious band Linkin Park!
But first I have to say that I'm from Germany and that my English is not so good. I hope that I won't make to many mistakes and that you'll understand me! ;-) [You can read his opinion also at ciao.de in german.]
I bought this CD a few weeks ago on recommendation of my friends. I went home and put the CD strained into my CD-player.
What I got to hear in the next 45 minutes, was probably the best CD which I had ever bought!!!
Contrary to other disks, where mostly 2 or 3 tracks are total garbage, here each track is a small masterpiece!
But what music Linkin Park are playing? Now, earliest one could compare them with Limp Bizkit... then rather with Kid Rock... and then again with Korn! Because this music is so multilayered!
This is the result of the fact that the vocals are taken over by two people. By Chester and Mike.
While Chester is responsible for the typical metal-screaming and the dark singing, Mike is rapping his Hip Hop parts skillfully over the stage!
The cool thing is, that the mixture from hard metal sounds, melancholic melodies and skillfull raps fits together very well!
The songs are all concerning of the love. Either of an old or of a hoped or of a current. It's really cool that the lyrics of Linkin Park have got enaugh depth! Not as for example Limp Bizkit, where Fred Durst is cursing senselessly the whole time, without actually discharging a correct statement!
People who never liked hard music won't like Linkin park, even if only 30% are really 'hard'. Also all Britney, Backstreet Boys and N'Sync fans won't like LP, but maybe I'm wrong... Just go into the next music-store, listen to LP and then you'll see if you like them or if you don't.
This is the track-list of Hybrid Theory: 01 Papercut 02 One Step Closer 03 With You 04 Points Of Authority 05 Crawling 06 Runaway 07 By Myself 08 In The End 09 A Place For My Head 10 Forgotten 11 Cure For The Itch 12 Pushing Me Away
My result: Probably the best disk I've ever bought!!! Who can't imagine, that hard guitar reefs, loud screaming, melancholic melodies und singing, cool raps und fat beats fit together very well, should quickly buy this GREAT LP!!!
PEACE, the mad german!
