Opening track ‘One By One’ is probably one of the finest efforts here. It uses the typical rock method of slow verse followed by fast chorus, to produce ... Read review

Advantages: they know how to keep the fans happy Disadvantages: far under-rated
For a band that have found their way onto numerous movie soundtracks over the last couple of years, as well as releasing a fine debut album ‘Camino Palermo’, The Calling remain largely unheard of by the majority of people that I speak to. Despite having an assortment of back-up musicians at their live shows, the band is simply made up of vocalist Alex Band and the multi talented Aaron Kamin. The thing that I find hard to stomach is that I have heard ... ...music that the two respective bands make is far from alike. Where as Nickelback make a brand of rock so dated it’s untrue, The Calling are a hard-working, honest band that make majestic melodic rock that will brighten the blackest heart.
2002 saw the release of their debut album ‘Camino Palermo’. From that album came a track that would tear up the singles charts as well as give them that first sweet smell of success. ‘Wherever You Will Go’ became ...

Advantages: Very strong, mature, real grower Disadvantages: Some tracks are a bit samey at first
"Two" – a definite grower
I wasn’t sure what to expect from this album. The Calling’s recent single “Our Lives” made me buy it, and I didn’t know what to expect from the risk. I am glad I purchased it, it is a very strong album which is a welcome edition to my CD collection. The Calling made their debut with their 2002 Camino Palmero album, which spawned singles such as “Wherever You Will Go” and “Adrienne”. They made a fantastic return earlier ... ...Featured are the two singles “Our lives” the brilliant radio friendly pop/rock anthem which certainly pushed me towards the album. “Things will go my way” is the latest single to be lifted and is another good example of what you can expect from this album. Similar to their memorable debut release “Wherever You Will Go”, this track has a more acoustic feel to it, a theme which is continued throughout the album.
If you’ve never heard of the calling. ...

Advantages: Amazing band and an amazing album Disadvantages: Too under-rated
I first heard of The Calling, probably like a lot of other people, through their first big hit "Wherever You Will Go" and without sounding to obsessed the second I heard this amazing song on the radio I went out and bought it on single, along with their debut album "Camino Palmero".
The Calling as a band are amazing, and I think it is wrong that so many people haven't even heard of them. They (being Alex Band and Aaron Kamin) are exceptionally good ... ..."Two". They work together to perform all the songs using their own talents. Alex is the vocals in the band, using his very addictive and highly loved voice, which has it's own unique sound to it.
Whereas Aaron is the muscian behind the band, adding the guitar, strings, percussion, bass and piano to the selection of songs on this album alone.
The high talent of the band is also shown throughout their songs, by the pure fact that Alex and Aaron have ...

Advantages: Alex Band's vocals, Aaron Karmin's playing Disadvantages: not as good as previous album
A LITTLE HISTORY:
The Calling originated from LA, started off as quite a gathering, but slowly, members of the band began to leave to pursue various things, and the peelings left behind Alex Band (singer) and Aaron Karmin (plays most instruments). This was ok, as the two talented guys were the main focus of the band, and wrote the lyrics together. After the success of their previous album Camino Palmero, which included such hits as 'Wherever You ... ...most of the band, the two lingered around such projects as the theme tune for Daredevil, the song been entitled 'For You'.
It took the two a while to release their next album project entitled Two, this is their second album.
TWO:
The songs are written buy Alex Band, Aaron Karmin, and the album was produced by folks such as Marc Turner, and Clif Magness. The executive producer is Clive Davis
The album consists of eleven main tracks, but this version ...

Advantages: Music Style for everyone. Acoustic is the greatest theme. Disadvantages: Not enough tracks of variety, they are great tracks but there needs to be more!
Firstly the open song of "one by one" if listened to the recent album "Camino Palmero" brings back the touch The Calling have with acoustic music.
Whilst listening to the Whole album, you'll be amazed at the quality of style there is to listen to. This is a MUST buy. If you love relaxing and love having the feelings over summer lifted over the airwaves of there newest album, then get it!
"Chasing the sun" must be one of my all-time favourites on ... ...drive) in my car along a long hot road in the sunshine, with the windows down and this song blasting from the speakers... its an uplifting song that you could relate to!
So the radio stations for the next song, have been belting it out for a few weeks. You know what Im talking about "Our Lives". This was the song that got me to buy there album "II". Its a reminder that we are given only one life, so we have to make the most of it.
I could go on ...
