After this band won the Mercury Music Prize I had to get it, I loved the single 'Hope There's Someone' and I so respect the Mercury Prize that I just went for it. As with most albums initially I was dissapointed. But quite thoroughly. None of the tracks really move on from the first, its all piano and warbling vocals, and like I say, some of it does seem like its straight of Les Miserables or something.
But you can't take it away from them, they've written some catchy and evocative songs, one's going round in my head now. And once you resign to the fact its chill-out kind of music you'll put it on everytime you're feeling reflective. The shortness of the CD is a dissapointment, the number of what I would call complete songs is only around 7, but some of these are excellent. Check out 'For Today I am a Boy' and 'Fistful of Love' especially.
Just don't expect too much from this album. If you liked 'Hope There's Someone' and want more of the same, that's what you will get, and if you're looking for an exceptional voice, you'll definately find that.

I don't know if I should be ashamed, but I must admit that I have never heard of them! So, once again, some more details would be nice, about the tracks on this album, and as I don't know them, some background would be great! If you add to this, please tell me, and I'll come and have another look. Bye for now.
