light jazz. While M Craft (Martin Craft) has a similar vocal delivery to Damon Gough (Badly Drawn Boy) and a talent for great guitar-driven melodies intertwined with luscious layers of keyboards and samples, he is equally able to funk things up a little with a touch of psychedelia, as does the likes of Lewis Taylor. The gentle "Dragonfly" feels like a lullaby, the laid-back snare-driven percussion almost sways along beneath a simple riff, as the song builds up into an almost Spector-type wall of sound. "Sweets" is a JJ Cale, early 70s offering--the mellow vocal delivery over the driving guitar riff makes for a rock track that isn't quite a rock track. "Come to My Senses" brings to mind a 60s spy/detective TV theme, the spiky samples and the baritone guitar give it that air of mystery. For a record of only six tracks, this offering surely does stretch across a lot of musical genres, this is testament to Craft's musicianship and songwriting; there's even a bit of lounge lizard jazz with "Out in the Sun". Thanks to its multi-layered sound, the appeal ofI Can See It All Tonightgrows with each listen, but it still manages to charm you the very first time it's played.--Jamie Clark

Martin Craft is a relatively unknown artist, but expect him to gain more publicity and become more famous as his songs become better known. His songs are often described as very depressing, and whilst this is not the right word to describe the feeling of the songs, it's true that the songs help to elevate the mind to a more thoughtful level. You know those songs that raise the hairs on your arms and has you nodding along involuntary. This album is full of moments like that. It combines a sort of folksy acoustic singer / songwriter with a sad, heavy bass line in the background. His music has featured in many different TV programs - 'Sweets' featured in the OC, and 'Dragonfly' was incredibly impressive in E4's 'Skins' in a more serious, blunt scene of the show. The problem with this album is that it only features 6 tracks, and whilst all of them are impressive, it is still enough. However, for some of the cheap prices you can get it for, it's still worth the money. I would recommend the tracks 'Dragonfly' and 'Sweets', and although it's not on this album, I would also recommend 'I got nobody waiting for me'. A great buy if you're into light melodic acoustic songs, from an artist bound to escalate in fame levels sooner or later.
