...***WARNING----THIS REVIEW WILL BE SHORT AND NOT NECESSARILY SWEET---------
Well where do you start. It's not metal, it's not made by a machine and it sure as hell ain't music. It is merely 64 minutes of electro-drone feedback, with no vocals, "composed" by Lou Reed, the New Yorker famous for "Walk On The Wild Side", which he made in 1975 to escape the clutches of his then record company RCA. A contractual obligation kind of thing, "you keep me tied to this contract, and I'll keep on releasing stuff like this", all that kind of thing. One can only imagine he got the idea from his ex-Velvets sparring partner John Cale, a man more suited to this kind of musical "experimentation".
I've read some reviews by some music writers and fans who tell me that this is the greatest album ever made. I can only imagine...

Advantages: Unique, cool and cheap Disadvantages: Ever so slightly pretentious
...Yep it was just a pink banana – ‘no, go on put it on its post modern’ Warhol would have said, ‘please don’t – no one will by it if you do’ Lou Reed would have said, ‘fu*k you – im paying, im putting it on anyway’ Warhol would have said…I just think that’s the way the whole album would have gone –Ive always thought Warhol was pretty cack and I think his only good influence on art was to use his money and power to give the real geniuses such as Lou Reed and the Velvet underground room to flourish
Im sat here listening to it now though – its just the kind of inspiration I need to write a new review because this collaboration between Andy Warhol and the Velvet Underground is a true classic. It isn’t the easiest album to discover- no single Lou Reed...

Advantages: great 3 cd boxset with a variewty of great songs from awesome movies! Disadvantages: hard to find a copy at the moment
