Advantages: Has an up-beat and rocky feel. The album has a lot of energy with Rocky theme tune like intros. Disadvantages: This album put me off the band.Dissapointing, noisy and messily composed.
This album really put me off the band and in my opinion their earlier album News and Tributes was much better. I found it dissapointing and really over the top on unbalanced energy.
Does it rock? Yeah I guess it does with some real punchy powerful songs that are a bit Maximo Park in feel. But the overal feel of this album is dissapointing as they seem to have tried to squish as much as possible into each song. The harmonies change suddenly, spiky guitar riffs and lots of up-tempo-pop shifts in the music. This makes it feel a bit too noisy or messy and they have lost much of the initial grace or simplicity that made them stand out from the rest.
Lyrically and vocally they dont really stand out either and all I can say is thank God ths isn't their first album as hopefully their existing fans will remain loyal and hope for a much ...
Advantages: A true ghost story, pure magic Disadvantages: BOO!!
THE WOMAN IN BLACK
SUSAN HILL
"I looked directly at her and she at me. There was no mistake. My eyes were not deceiving me. It was she, the woman in black."

I dug out my little copy of this wonderful book - at only 160 pages, I knew that I would read it while they watch Daniel Craig emerge in skimpy shorts from the sea, and I would be able to refresh my memories of a book I have read on many occasions. (Oh and yes I did rewind my Sky Plus this morning to ...
Advantages: One great scene. Disadvantages: Appaling dialog, lack of direction, awful acting from some.
of the film, this exchange between two vastly confident people far surpassing everything that comes before and everything that is to follow.
Quite what is to come Iwillnot go into, as the film does have a number of surprises left in it. Sadly, they aren?t particularly interesting, but they are surprises nonetheless. However, all of these are hurt by the problem that also lessens the first section of the film; it feels as though no script has been used. While improvisation in the right context can work very well, here it feels forced, as characters stumble through repetitive dialog that just leaves the viewer irritated as they don?t really have anything to say.
All of this can be laid squarely at the door of writer-director James Toback, who ten films on, should really know better than to come up with this kind of thing. It?s as if he has ...
