It's kind of ironic that I'llSleepWhenI'm Dead was a big seller in respect of DVD sales, not only did it sit at number one in the charts for several weeks; but whenI used to sell DVD's I could never get hold of enough of these. I can only conclude that the reason it was so popular was at the time of its DVD release Clive Owen was pretty much a guaranteed cert to be the new James Bond. Because having flitted through several websites today I cannot find one person that has anything decent to say about the film.
In my mind I'llSleepWhenI'm Dead is another prime example of why the British film industry is in so much turmoil. It pretends to be a thinking movie, but I think it out thought itself; either that or they ran out of money. Too many dark brooding moments in which the characters look ...

seeming forced. The finale is almost unbearably tense, serving up its fair share of surprises, and whilst one may declare that it ?descends? into melodrama, I attest that it shamelessly (and rightly so) does so, with no descent or decline in the film?s integrity or quality. The final twenty minutes is so chock full of unpredictability (yet still manages to be tangible), and so masterfully acted, that even if you find the melodrama to be several steps too far, there is nevertheless an assortment of reasons to both watch and revel in this electrifying, dramatic character study.
Before the Devil Knows You?reDead is packed with Oscar-worthy material ? the tragic, spiralling plot is unflinching in its portrayal of man?s desperation, thanks to Kelly Masterson?s sharp and inventive script. However, what without question raises this film above ...

Things to do in Denver whenyou'redead is an on the run film that follows the format of any other run of the mill film. One does not watch this movie for the plot but for the sheer enjoyment of the characters... what's wrong with that?
The characters are each given their own personality and cool nicknames and to watch them interact within the film is entertainment enough. The film is jammed packed with well known actors, which would make one assume that it would either be a better film or that it was just created to make money. But that none of that is true and to the viewer it seems that the film was just created so that all of these talented actors could have a little fun and they do causing the audience to join in on the fun.
Despite the almost melodramatic and depressing title the film ends with just enough to let the audience ...

El-P proves that he's still the best there is at what he does, though what he does is as hard to pin down as ever. Aesop Rock, Cat Power, the Mars Volta, Cage, and Trent Reznor make up the eclectic guest list.
