Well, simply where do you start with this ravishing, fisty, butt kicking album!
First Here is the product information:
Title: Im Not Dead Artist: P!nk Release date: April 4th (2006) Lyrics: Explicit / Parent advisory Genre: Pop / Rock
Right, i know that this album has been out for a little while now but it still is an amazing album and i guarantee it will satisfy someone for christmas. The only holdback of this is the explicit language present in the songs, making it mostly unsuitable for anyone about 13 and under, (My opinion). The Album art is very attractive, all pink and frilly, showing that she is not dead and making her comeback!
Track Listing:
1. Stupid Girls 2. Who Knew 3. Long Way To Happy 4. Nobody Knows 5. Dear Mr. President (Featuring Indigo Girls) 6. I'm Not Dead 7. 'Cuz I Can 8. Leave Me Alone (I'm Lonely) 9. U + Ur Hand 10. Runaway 11. The One That Got Away 12. I Got Money Now 13. Conversations With My 13 Year Old Self 14. I Have Seen The Rain (Featuring James T. Moore)
Each and every one of these songs is different in its own way, making the album very fun and moodswaying. Some songs are better than others, but you get that in all albums! IN these songs
i love the way that pink has shown her wide range of singing styles from ballades, to pop songs to songs with a slight rock - feel! The album story is based on her music comeback and how she has risen once again to produce amazing, firecracker songs!
Here i will give you a brief insight to each song:
1. Stupid girls : As you may know, this was the first song released of this album back in April. It has prodominent theme of feminism, and how girls can do boy things. The video shows a small girl making choices (Playing with her dollsm or playing rugby!). The message pink is trying to send out is that girls do not have to be girly, they can do things just as well as men and so they should.
2. Who Knew: This song was a personal favourite of mine for a while. This song talks about her and her boyfriend and the times they have faced, and that people cannot judge them. It starts with a slow singing verse which blasts out into one of three big powerful choruses, in which i love!
3. Long Way To Happy: This song is one of the more should i say boaring songs with no real umph, but still a good travel tune !
4. Nobody Knows: This song is one of the power ballad songs, which shows her great singing voice. It is a very catchy song, and is currently out know.
5. Dear Mr President: This song is very funny, and i like it very much, but i dont think it will cut it to be released.
6. Im Not Dead: I love this song, it shows two sides to the song in a very good build up. It has very emotional verses, with a good guitar driven chorus.
7. 'Cuz I Can: This song has to be my new favourite! It is very entertaining, whilst keeping a good song structure (unlike some songs can be). It talks (well actually shouts) about how rich she is and she can " Fit your whole house in her swimming pool " ! It has very good lyrics and is just simply the best one to have a laugh and sing along with.
8. Leave Me Alone : Another good ballad song, with great lyrics.
9. U + Ur Hand: This song was the last one that came out, which you will probably remember. It is yet another very powerful rock/pop song with very driven choruses! The video, i must say is also very good with her dressed up as different types of people!
10. Runaway: Another cool song with a theme of her packing her bags and leaving! It describes it in great deal, making it a great emotional song!
11. The One That Got Away: A great song, with a different twist!
12. I Got Money Now: A song talking about how she has money now, slightly more acoustic than the other songs so far but still keeping the theme!
13. Conversations With My 13 Year Old Self: This is my favourite slow song of the album, having a theme on pink talking to herself when she was 13, going through through the teenage stages of life, with very good backing music.
14. I Have seen the rain: A Great duet with her dad, when she harmonizes over his voice, ( acoustic ).
So, this album is fantastic and is one of my favourites, and i think it is a great present for you to buy for your friends and loved ones!
