Advantages: Izzard is a stand up genius! Disadvantages: Overly political at times.
Lets start out with this. Eddie Izzard is a great stand up comedian. However, those of you who like to be told jokes should buy a Chubby Brown video.
This video is set in San Francisco ("not San Fran, no apparently not, its THE CITY!). This means Izzard starts with a short tour including a hilarious offbeat look at trams and the prison of Alcatraz.
For observational humour Eddie is second to none. For those of you who remember "Glorious" this video is a departure from the insanity and is a more sarcastic look at cultures across the globe. Some of you may find this a bit close to the bone and may wish to avoid it.
Don't worry though. The insanity which is Izzard shines through on occasion ("when squirrels eat nuts why do they stop and look as if to say, have i left the gas on? No i,m a f%$£*% squirrel!).
Once the actual stand up ...
singer: Coleen, Bernie, Linda and Maureen. They're dressed in black dresses with big smiles on their faces. Indeed it is very welcoming and utterly spectacular. 'The Nolans' is written in between them in a lovely gold shade, with 'I'm in the Mood Again' above it. This logo is also seen on the back, with a track list of all sixteen songs underneath.
Inside the case there is a little leaflet advertising their tour, with dates on it, as well as a little about the tour DVD that will be released in November. Before I had a listen to the CD, I had a flick through the booklet that comes with it. This just gives you a little information about each song, as well as a word from the girls. Advantages: funny, light Disadvantages: girly, clever but not THAT clever
Another Sunday, another movie, helping me relax after another heavy night out. This time, the movie, I'm With Lucy, a romantic comedy (OK, chick flick) with Monica Potter.
I know what some of you are going to say right now- "why do you insist on watching this bilge Kati?", especially baalzamon, sghawken and richada! Well, on Blockbuster online, you form a list of the films you want to see, in priority order (I have been awaiting Madagascar and other new releases for ages), and they send you the DVDs as and when you reach top of the waiting list. So instead of waiting for ages with nothing to watch, I have added about a million movies from the comedy section to keep me going on my lonely nights in front of the TV! So that is why I keep reviewing this stuff, because its there!
