I'm So Dizzy - Tommy Roe

Advantages: fun, catchy, great riffs
Disadvantages: not a vast fan-base

...under-rated, particularly in the UK, particularly when you look at the success of bands like Blink 182, who to me, are a group of talent less nobodies. Right well, on to the pick of the bunch ……. So Long, Astoria The title track, and opening track, is a typical in your face, modern rock song. It mixes clever riffs with the surprisingly mature thoughts of lead singer Kris Roe. That for me, is where they stand out from other bands within the genre, the fact that they have a very level-headed writer who knows what to write about without delving to far into the out-dated ‘I hate my parents’ mode of thought. Yes, they do still enlighten us on similar topics, but without taking us to the ‘been there, heard it’ situation that many modern bands do so often. Advantages: High quality of varied tracks

...and drum solos! Instead the vocals are the main feature, and deservedly so in my opinion. Although they aren't particularly thought provoking or philosophical, they're fun and catchy and you can definitly relate to them. As i'd never even heard of the Goo Goo Dolls before I got this CD, I'm not too sure which tracks have been released as singles. I know that Slide and Iris (my two favorites) definitly were but I'm unsure about the others, I'll do some more research and edit when I've found out! Iris is the track that most people have heard of. I know that it caused a lot of people to go out and buy the album and it's probably the most well known of all the songs included. Advantages: The biggest selling records from a memorable musical era
