Ibiza - The Sound Of Renaissance Vol.3 - Various Artists

Advantages: The word IBIZA in the title! Some really good tracks on here.

...This CD album is brilliant. By Ministry of sound, Ibiza Annual 2007 brings you three cd's of fresh, uplifting funky house from the last year. Cd1 gets off to a good start with Robyn's great track With Every Heartbeat. Big hits from Freeks, Booty Luv and Yves Larock follow and some more house tracks that are not as commercial which is a good thing, all in all a good 1st disc. CD2 begins with Armand's rework of Degrees of motion's Do You Want It Right Now? Which is above average, great tracks from Axwell Its True and Mark Ronson Stop me follow, again more underground tracks finish the mix and a good mix it is to. Finally cd3 is pretty solid Samin Heater is great check it out, was surprised to see Greece 2000 Three Drives here this remix sounds alomost the same as the original to me. I would definatley recommend this CD to every party... Read review

...The tracks chosen are fantastic. If you wanted a definitive guide to hard trance and know nothing about the genre then this is a great place to start. The representation is great of the sounds of hard trance and full credit goes out on that point. Most of the good points in my mind are from the track selection to be honest. The mixing is rubbish to say the least. I wouldn't consider this to be a particularly "commercial" mix collection, and therefore I wouldn't necessarily expect it to be a rushed attempt to get a CD put together for money with no thought put into the mixing. How disappointed I was! I don't like to use the word "shoddy" but I feel compelled to on this occasion on the account that anyone with even an hour's mixing experience could do better. The artwork is completely unoriginal also and alone doesn't fill me... Read review

...to it and I don't mean that badly, its nice to be soothed so much by one cd. The theme on this cd is mostly a natural rythmic feeling, guitars and classical sounds, but with some electric influence, but as i have said, nothing shocking, I have heard alot of these tunes on BBC 1's Holiday programme and i'm sure most people would recognise a few of the tunes at least. There are 13 tracks on this cd, and as usual, they range from different era's, most are from 1996, one from 1991 and track 3, Sueno con Mexico, a classical guitar piece is from 1979. On almost all of the Cafe del mar cd's you will find one track from about 30 years ago, but it will fit in, and its age won't show, infact you will probably find it to be the best track on the cd and will want to find more music by the artists.
