Advantages: Classic tracks, no fillers Disadvantages: Adagio for Strings is missing!

Disc One's stand out favourites for me include Storm's Time To Burn, Cosmic Gate's Fire Wire, IIO's Rapture, Angelic's It's My Turn (Angelic being Amanda, wife of DJ Judge Jules), an amazing Tiesto remix of Delirium's Silence, and one of my all-time favourite tunes, Sandstorm by Darude. So many memories of Ibiza and a brilliant, high-energy opening full of mainly chart hits and possibly the most recognisable tunes for the average listener.
The second disc, although still full of recognisable hits, is a little more obscure and is possibly more familiar to the seasoned dance music fan. Again chock-full of trance anthems, Salvea Mea by Faithless builds the momentum, Planet Perfecto's Bullet in The Gun has you dancing like a loon and ten songs later, Lost Witness's Happiness Happening has you needing a quick sit down to recover before getting ...
Advantages: packed full of hits, some lesser known, as well as a CD of new anthems in the making Disadvantages: Heard them all before? Possibly! But we still love them
new to trance, some may be, or if you are looking for a walk down memory lane and haven't bought one of these albums in a few years you may just enjoy what Dave has blended together. The albums saving grace is CD 3 which does have a more up-to-date selection of club tracks for your aural enjoyment.
So how does it breakdown? As i've said briefly, CD's 1 and 2 are made up of staple classic tracks from seminal tranceartists such as Matt Darey, Chicane, Angelli & Nelson, Paul Van Dyk, Faithless, the list goes on! CD 3 brings us bang into 2009, or well more technically some of the tracks that were big towards the latter end of 2008. It would be unfair to judge this CD on the lack of real upfront 2009 tracks, having only been released 3 months into a new year.
For me personally, out of the 2 classic CD's, the second has to take all ...
Advantages: Great new styles, not afraid of trying new trance techniques, good lengthed songs Disadvantages: Not many well known songs remixed, lyrics are always the chorus of the song repeated
This album shows just how much Armin is capable of. A State of Trance2007 features 28 long trance tracks, ranging from 2 minutes to 8 minutes (Most around 6) that flow into eachother. Armin has used various techniques that other trance music creators have not tried yet, such as bit-crunching, and has achieved the desired effect. I have really enjoyed this album, and have listened to it for 3 months now, without being bored of it. One of my favourite aspects of this album is the use of drums, he has used different samples to make his music provide the 'rushing' feeling to it's listener that most tranceartists cannot achieve. This album is well worth it's price, as it has over 1 and a half hours of tracks inside, that you will not get bored of. There are a few original songs by Armin in this CD, but most are tracks from other people that ...
