Ice Age III (Dawn Of The Dinosaurs) - Hollywood Studio Symphony (The)

...I was invited to see Ice Age 3 by a group of friends, and ended up going out on a Saturday night to see it, in 3D. I hadn?t actually seen any of the previous Ice Age films, although I had heard of them and knew some of the characters. I still managed to follow it though. It starts off in the ice age, as the title wou ld suggest. The characters comprise a strange herd that you wouldn?t find anywhere else in their ancient world; Manny and Ellie the mammoths in love, Diego the sabre toothed tiger, Sid the sloth and Crash and Eddie the possums. Scrat is still on the edge of the herd, watching out for his precious acorn but this time theres a new twist; he has competition in the form of a lady squirrel. Manny and Ellie are starting a family, with Ellie being pregnant they don?t think about much else and Sid starts to feel very left out... Read review

Advantages: Fab animation, good kids film
Disadvantages: Lacks the comedy I loved in first film's. No match to the first two.

...It was a typical late July day. The rain was pouring from the skies, my daughter was firmly over the novelty of being on school holidays, and I was on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Desperately needing to get out of the house for a few hours, I loaded up the web page of our local cinema to see what was on offer. Hurrah, Ice Age 3: Dawn of the dinosaurs was one of the offerings! We have both the previous Ice age movies on DVD and they have both been a massive hit with both the kids and myself. I noticed it was showing in both 2D and 3D, and as we'd never experienced the latter decided this would be our entertainment for the day, and little miss and myself got ready to go in eager anticipation. Advantages: Fun for all the family, strong animation once more
Disadvantages: Maybe a bit too much suggested humour for the adults, standard plot

...This is a film only review as the film is currently only just out at the cinema. Ice Age 3 : Dawn of the Dinosaurs is a funny third film featuring our prehistoric creatures, and doesn't fail to hit the target just as well as the previous 2 films in the series did. I took my 5 year old son and his school friend to watch it at our local cinema this afternoon, and the three of us thoroughly enjoyed it. The tale picks up where the last film left off, with the mix n match herd of a couple of mammoths, a sabre tooth tiger, a sloth and a pair of dippy possums. Manni and Ellie are the two mammoths expecting their first little baby mammoth, with Sid the sloth being a bumbling idiot as he always has been, jealous at the love and family the mammoths are experiencing.
