Escaped From Pop Idol
Review of Friday's Child - Will Young by  clairemanning

Advantages: WHAT AN AMAZING VOICE!!!!!
Disadvantages: it took too long to come out

...don't get me wrong i was a huge fan of Pop Idol, and of course Will, but he's really come into his own on this album, an album which shows off his talent to the full potential. unlike Gareth or Michelle McManus, Will has escaped from the Pop Idol tag in style, and good on him! overall a great album and one of my favourites in my collection! The last album was great, but the songs were cheesier and there were more covers. on Fidays Child(the new album) there is only one cover which i personally think is one of the best tracks on the album, it's called 'Love The One You're With' (you might have seen him perform it on CD:UK) it's a really uplifting song and i hope he releases it! a mix of slower songs and fast songs, not as mellow as the last album. i would recommend this album to anyone., loads of people put Will down because he's come... a good album to relax to
Review of Veneer - Jose Gonzalez by  danpatmore

Advantages: subtle
Disadvantages: maybe too subtle to begin with

...-played classicial guitar and soft almost forgettable melodies. That is until you really start listening. At first it seems like a guitar album, the only visible difference between tracks being changes in the guitar playing, but behind the stark composition there are some beautiful lyrics. I think ‘Lovestain’ typifies this ‘You left a blood stain on the ground, You left a love stain on my heart, but blood comes out easily’. Other quality tracks on the album include ‘Broken Arrows’ and ‘Crosses’, but in honesty I don’t think there is a bad track on it. Perhaps it is due to the simple nature of the recordings and their composition (although don’t be fooled, this guy can really find his way around a guitar), but it delivers throughout and is now a part of a routine to help me sleep. It’s a calming and comforting album and would suit a long journey... Read review

Any day of the weeks Child...
Review of Friday's Child - Will Young by  Deenar

Advantages: Well Its Will young isn't it!
Disadvantages: Only 11 songs!

...Well I am an original POP IDOL fan..... I sat on the edge of my seat waiting to hear Will win. Ive seen him at the POP IDOL concert and also in collaboration with Gareth(who)???????????????????? Listening to Fridays Child made me realise why Will won Pop idol... He has the most fantastic voice, Hes not a pop star hes a ledgend. Anyway back to the Album 11 tracks all of superior quality....Including hit Leave right now and new single Your game.. Wills unique voice smooths his way through this album, the songs blend into one another you hardy realise the time passing.. This album is chill out big time Get yourself a large glass or 2 of wine, curl up on the sofa and chill. I think the album cover lets the album done a little as it has Will jumping off a rock???having a great time(which I am sure he did have) But I fell something... Read review
