Advantages: Great music and lyrics! Disadvantages: Silly beard!
...While most people think that Queen was just Freddie Mercury, dedicated fans know different. Queen had many number ones in the UK, but did you know that each of the 4 members managed to write a top 10 hit? Freddie Mercury wrote Bohemian Rhapsody, Brian May wrote We Will Rock You, John Deacon wrote Another One Bites the Dust and Roger Taylor came up with Radio Ga Ga, Heaven for Everyone and A Kind Of Magic to name but a few.
Roger was by far the best looking of the group, but he was never the stereotypical Neanderthal drummer, having picked up a degree in dentistry while practising his drumming skills.
Roger was also the most prolific band member outside of Queen, having penned 4 solo albums and 3 with his other group, The Cross, who he formed after Queen stopped touring in 1986.
Electric Fire is the last (so far) of his solo...

Advantages: A great rock album from Queen's drummer Disadvantages: A few weak songs
...An amazing debut solo album written and performed entirely by Roger Taylor, the drummer of world famous rock band Queen. A great start with No Violins, a classic rock song followed by the 1970s single Future management and Good Times are Now. My Country I & II is my favourite track on the album and is great to listen to after a bad day at work! Although there are one or two weak tracks, like Fun In Space, the album is consistent and very enjoyable to listen to.
After listening to all four of Roger Taylor's albums, I think this one has to be the best. A completely different to sound to most of Queen's music, this album is refreshing to listen to and Roger's vocals are great!
I would definately recommend this album to any Queen or Roger Taylor fans, or anyone interested in trying some of his solo work....

Advantages: A few good songs, very good in fact Disadvantages: More boring songs than good ones
...I thought that Pink Floyd would disband when Roger Waters left as he was such a significant part of this popular beat combo ;-)
They stuck together though and this, in my opinion, shows some of the old Pink Floyd spirit even though he isn't among them any more. Incedentally I think Waters was wrong to claim he IS pink floyd and that the band couldn't use that name, because Dave Gilmour for one put so much into the pool of talent that was the Pink Floyd I liked so much.
Anyway, this album has some good songs on it - such as "What do you want from me" which has very impressive vocals and music as does "A great day for freedom" and "Coming back to life". I was well impressed with the artwork and sleeve notes, better than the music.
The rest of the album seems pretty bland though, not the hard hitting, reality biting Pink Floyd...
