Advantages: good sound debut Disadvantages: none if you like him!
...Carnival is an album which allows Wyclef to explore many different music genre for the first time after working with the Fugees. The eclectic mix of music will go on to be Wyclef's signature, and here we find hip pop, interspersed with many more meaningful songs involving Wyclef’s past. Many of these songs have a strong Haitian influence, and are much more emotional in content. These more personal songs come at the very end of the album, with the funkier hip hop towards the beginning. ‘Guantanamera’ is particularly good, and the voice of Lauryn Hill on some tracks demonstrates the closeness these musicians still share. An appearance by Earth, Wind and Fire is a treat, and a cover of the Bee Gees is a fun track. All in all I rate this album very highly, but I am a big fan…...

Advantages: A band trying to modernise their sound.. Disadvantages: but with the Earth, Wind & Fire brass section?
...In 1981 Genesis released "Abacab" to a largely confused and unsuspecting fan base. This was the album where the influence of Phil Collins upon the groups' work took great hold and their sound changed forever...

funky music Review ofUltimate Disco Grooves (Mixed by Robbie Rivera) - Robbie Riveraby
y2kati
Advantages: Disadvantages:
...This a double filled with 43 of the best disco tracks from the 70's and 80's. It's by far the best disco album that I've seen around - and was on sale when I bought it (which makes it even better). There are only about five or six tracks on the whole album that I don't really like that much.
It includes classics such as: 'Boogie Nights' - Heatwave, 'I Will Survive' - Gloria Gaynor, 'Can You Feel The Force' - Real Thing, 'Instant Replay' - Dan Hartman, 'Contact' - Edwin Starr and 'Boogie Wonderland' - Earth, Wind and Fire
An essential album for all disco lovers...
