Advantages: Live, quite funny, includes most of their best songs Disadvantages: Doesn't include all of their best songs.
...I had recently bought this album as a long term fan of Gwar, having listened to them for a good few years now. Their songs combine the thrash metal riffs they're best known for with lyrics mainly regarding nothing. It is this that I believe makes them a truly original band, for no others could pull it off as well as Gwar do. After hearing the news of this album I was excited that they had brought out a live album, as I had always heard they were 100% better live, and it's true. Most bands have problems with their vocalist not being able to pull off the same notes live, but this does not apply to Gwar as they make their songs as if they play live all the time. The whole song sounds as if it was meant to be blasted out of 1000 watt speakers to a crowd of thousands.
As a warning, most of their songs contain offensive material...

Advantages: Some fantastic songs that benefitted from a live atmosphere. Disadvantages: Some tracks didn't work vocally, a little Beatle bias.
...You would have to have lived in a cave over the past forty odd years not to have heard of Paul McCartney; in spite of his now ex-wife's original claim that she'd never heard of the fab four before she met the man himself (yeah, right), most people left on the planet may wish to rekindle memories of years gone by, or even discover them for the first time.
The purpose of the Paul McCartney 'Back in the World' Live CD was obviously to take the joy of seeing the ex-Beatle live into the home of many more people who may not be able to folk out £50 to £60 for a concert ticket. This two disk set, as it conveniently points out on the front, contains 36 tracks by the man himself, chronicling his time in the world's biggest band ever to his time in Wings and even his extensive solo career. I'm not saying that it wasn't realised in order to earn...

Advantages: It's another live Dream Theater cd! Disadvantages: None
...Prog rock masters Dream Theater's live offering from Budokan in Tokyo is, as expected, stunning!!
The American 5 piece (James LaBrie - vocals, John Petrucci - guitar, Mike Portnoy - drums, John Myung - bass and Jordan Rudess - keyboards), just shy of their 20th anniversary when this was recorded in 2004, serve up approximately 3 hours of live entertainment.
Dream Theater are one of the most commercially successful progressive rock bands in recent generations despite remaining somewhat unknown in mainstream rock circles. They are undoubtedly one of the most technically gifted bands out there, each member being highly regarded for their technical wizardry of their instrument. Indeed, drummer Portnoy has won several "Drummer of the Year Awards", guitarist Petrucci was recruited for G3 tours with fellow virtuosos Joe Satriani and Steve...
