The Immaculate Collection is the first volume of Madonna's greatest hits. If you, like me, gre up listening to stuff like Into the Groove and Like a Virgin, you won't be disappointed with what's on this album. Following a rough chronology, it starts with the early stuff like "Borderline" and "Lucky Star" and moves through the early hits like "Material Girl" and "Holiday". The album ends with "Vogue" which was a hit around 1992, so it's probably safe to say we'll be seeing a second, if not a third, greatest hits compilation from Madge at some point. The Immaculate Collection is full of happy, poppy songs that it's impossible not to sing along to - and you'll surprise yourself by knowing all of the words! This album allows you to cut through the poorer album material and go straight to the heart of what made Madonna suchg a huge star in the second half of the Eighties.
