Album Notes: Second full-length album from Exeter post-rock outfit, follow-up to 2000's 'Six Modular Pieces' mini-LP. Features a more electronic sound than their previous work, adding keyboards, samplers and drum machines to their bass/drums/ guitar line-up. Includes the single 'A Gentle Cycle Revo- lution'.
Advantages: Guaranteed to make you dance Disadvantages: Some tracks are not as good as others
...that this is a fantastic album. It may take a couple of listens for you to really enjoy it, but I would recommend it for anyone. Metric really have managed to prove that dance and rock music can work well together effectively.

Advantages: Superbly quirky indie-pop stylings Disadvantages: Not for those with 'heavier' leanings
...After surviving Faith No More, heroin addiction, coming out and dating Courney Love, Imperial Teen must seem like a day at the beach for Roddy Bottum!
The former Faith No More keyboardist and founder member formed Imperial Teen along with fellow vocal/keyboard/guitarist Will Schwartz, and rhythm section Jone Sebbins (bass) and Lynn Perko (drums/percussion). Their infectious brand of quirky indie-pop stylings has an irresistible charm, but may seem like an acquired taste to some.
First things first: anybody into Faith No More purely for their metal leanings will hate Imperial Teen. In Faith No More, the members all had different musical spectrums, which made the music so polarised and genre-straddling. Roddy always offered the knowing pop sensibilities, and this band displays these tendencies to wonderful effect. Give some time...

...Elvis Costello ushered in 1982 with an extravagant New Year’s show at London’s Royal Albert hall, at which he and the Attractions were augmented by the weight of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Meanwhile, on either side of Christmas and the New year, Elvis had been ensconced in London’s AIR Studios, recording his seventh album. Eventually released in July, Imperial Bedroom was obviously intended to be regarded as a major statement. A suite of songs looking for a vague narrative thread, the record was overproduced and overblown. Costello’s voice was everywhere, overdubbed and overbearing; Steve nieve’s keyboards were uncharacteristically prominent, while Pete Thomas’ mighty drumming was reduced to a flat pat.
The Master was distinctly off form and looked drained of his creative juices....
