...directed by Ken Russell (1975) DVD: £ 17.09 THE CHARITY ROCK CONCERT: As part of their American tour of 1989, The Who gave a charity performance at Los Angeles Universal Amphitheatre to celebrate “Tommy”’s twentieth anniversary. This was The Who in its ‘big band’ incarnation with a large brass section, vocal chorus, percussion and keyboards. They were joined on stage by guests: Phil Collins (Uncle Ernie), Billy Idol (Coiusin Kevin), Elton John (Pinball Wizard), Patti LaBelle (Acid Queen) and Steve Winwood (The Hawker). Not content with that, The Who returned to the stage after the performance for an encore of thirteen of their greatest hits, lasting for over an hour. I had just been going through different phases of music genres, Rock, Hip-Hop,Pop,R&B, but I didn't take to them too much. I prefer more relaxing music, not classical but just more of a Drum and Bass type genre to give me that tingle up my spine like some music does... I began to get into Drum and Bass more as the music is just so much different to the other genres. There are hardly any lyrics and just some sweet sounds to listen to. ...'s. The sound quality is amazing and when listening to the CD, you really feel like your there, and I wish I was…… Track listings CD 1: 53:49 1. Master of Ceremonies (1:13) Basically this is just the intro to the concert. A American just states the technical needs i.e. no fireworks. 2. In The Flesh? (3:00) This continues with the Master of Ceremonies, who states that no recording must be made….and the music beats with the great guitar rift of the In The Flesh song….interrupting the MC….awesome start to an album and must have really caught the crowd out. 3. The Thin Ice (2:49) A babies voice rings out loud as Thin ice starts… 4. Another Brick In The Wall pt 1 (4:12) The first instalment of the Brick In The Wall trio…an amazing mixture of Gilmour guitar-ring and Waters voice seem to give this song a great rhythm and I believe this sounds...
