...This album continues the upturn in Quo albums over the last few years which started with 'Under the Influence' in 1999. (I'll forget Famous in the Last Century)
It has a good mix of tracks with something for every Quo fan and for those who have not heard the Quo before, you may be pleasently surprised.
It opens with two rockers;
'The Beginning of the End' a good rocker with a driving rhythm, closely followed ... ...one of the weaker tracks in my opinion, Rossi's country influences showing through.
'I don't want to Hurt You' reminds me of 'Can't Give You More' from the Rockin All Over The World' album, no bad thing.
'Electric Arena' a slow ponderous number that never gets going, not my cup of tea but unmistakably Quo.

It has a good mix of tracks with something for every Quo fan and for those who have not heard the Quo before, you may be pleasently surprised.
It opens with two rockers;
'The Beginning of the End' a good rocker with a driving rhythm, closely followed up with Rick parfitt belting out 'Alright'
Then Pennsylvania Blues, one of the weaker tracks in my opinion, Rossi's country influences showing through.
'I don't want to Hurt You' reminds me of 'Can't Give You More' from the Rockin All Over The World' album, no bad thing.
'Electric Arena' a slow ponderous number that never gets going, not my cup of tea but unmistakably Quo.
'Gravy Train' another Parfitt number with some stunning rhythm guitar work, he surly is one of the best in the world?
'Figure of Eight' melodic with a good hook
'Your The One For Me' reminiscent in places of very early Quo with a riff that wouldn't be out of place on 'The Dog of Two Head' album.
'My Little Heartbreaker' an up tempo number that swings along well suited to Rossi's voice.
'Hold Me' simple riff, simple melody a little reminiscent of the mid eighties stuff but not as bad.
'Saddlin Up' Rossi singing deep, a country feel with some harmonica from Andy Bown.
'Bad News' WOW Quo at their absolute best, no wonder this was top of the Virgin Download charts for weeks. The only surprise is that it's not Rossi or Parfitt singing but Rhino Edwards the bass player. I listen to this track again and again (no pun intended) at full volume. This will be a show stopper.
'Tonger Tied' a ballad nuff said.
'I ain't Wastin My time' a typical quo 12 bar rockin blues number sung to perfection by Rossi. A real feel good number. Good finishing number.
As you probably guessed I'm a fan. I even got the opportunity to meet the band back in 2006. i caught it on video and you can see it at the usual You tube url plus /watch?v=VJwtY3tGGB4.
Advantages: great music Disadvantages: no disadvantages
In search of the fourth chord by Status Quo, is one of the recent albums the band have produce, this album was released in september 2007, the band only released one single of the album, which was (the beginning of the end) hope it meant no meaning to this song. This is another great album released with all Quo material, and my favourite songs on this album is (beginning of the end, All that counts is love, Alright, Gravy train, and Electric arena. ...

Album Notes
'In Search Of The Fourth Chord' is the 33rd album by the South London-formed rock veterans, Status Quo. It features the band's trademark no-nonsense rock 'n' roll style and their sense of fun, energy and passion is still evident on this suprisingly diverse release. There are also first time vocal duties for bassist John "Rhino" Edwards, after 21 years in the band. The single 'The Beginning Of The End' is included.
