ProNew Sound, Original, Its Pendulum

ConsNot for everyone, New Sound

This is the eagerly anticipated album from Pendulum, a drum n bass band originating from Perth, Australia. It is the follow up to their previous album "Hold Your Colour", from 2007. The album "In Silico" was due to be released in mid March, then got pushed back to mid April, and has now been...

Not for me

ProVery little

ConsNo drum and bass

I recently saw Pendulum at Rock City in Nottingham and as they were promoting their new album, it influenced me to buy this. Despite the fact I didn't think it was the best gig, and they didn't ply the best song from them "Tarantula", I still enjoyed it that much that I felt I should go out and...

Unfortunately, In Silico marks Pendulum's downfall whilst bringing disappointment to the world of Drum and Bass. I say this because after Pendulum's masterful debut album "Hold Your Colour", it seems that the Australian band have effectively become both corporate & mainstream and are willing to...

ProSomething different, memorable tunes, great live

ConsNone...

Totally different from "Hold your colour", Pendulum have clearly used more tangible instruments in the creation of this great album. As a drum and bass album I don't rate it at all as few of the tracks could ever pass for DnB, however as an experimental rock style I put it way up there. I was...

ProVery original, packed with varied and atmospheric ...

ConsHas one or two poor tracks.

When I say that In Silico is outstanding when compared to Pendulum's last album, Hold Your Colour, I know a lot of people will disagree with me. Fans of Hold Your Colour don't like the fact that Pendulum ditched drum and bass for electronic rock. But to be honest, I love the direction Pendulum...

pendulum's second album- in silico is all the greatness of the first album but in some aspects is better. although there are less tracks on this album, the tracks contain for vocals, aswell as great background music and beat. especially as pendulum are becoming a 'fashion statement' i think they are more than that. their music could keep you entertained for hours upon hours. i recommend you buy the album, great value for money and great sounds.

ProOriginal, POUNDING BASS

Consnaff lyrics!

If you like drum and Bass and a bit of rock too, you will LOVE this album. It only really is done justice when the sound system playing it has ample bass capacity. THe lyrics are dry and generally meaningless but in this type of music you expect that. To describe it is a Prodigy for the next...

Not for me

published 17/05/2008

I advise no one to buy this album. Pendulum were once a good drum &bass band, now this new music is crap. It's not drum &bass more electro rock with a voice synthesizer in nearly every track which has ruined it. In my opinion now they have became to far comercialised, with breaking up from breakbeat kaos was the biggest mistake they ever did and i think they will regret it once they have lost most of their original fans :(

ProNot many

ConsI'm now £9 poorer

I checked the shops for days to buy this sell out album as there were never any copies on the shelves - surely that was a sure sign of an amazing drum n bass album? However, I was tempted to take it back for a refund, only not doing so because I hoped it would 'grow' on me. Where is the drum n...

Proamazing sound with vocal and beat lines

Consmaybe a bit repetetive

as i type this up, i listen to the cover song of this album which is so powerful, itl blow your mind. the sounds in this album are so fruity, amazing, voluptuos, thick, sexy, heavy. this album has defined electronic music with all the variation of the whole genre in one album. mind-blowing, powerful...

Okay...Album 2 from Pendulum and I hate to say but it falls behind their previous effort "Hold your colour" It just sounds more mainstream, like they;re playing to the wider crowd instead of pleasing the die hard crowd. ProTwo great songs in Propane Nightmares and Granite

ConsVery different style to their first (much better) ...

I am a big of Pendulum and bought In Silico after being very impressed with their debut album Hold Your Colour. In Silico moves away from the drum and bass of Hold Your Colour to a more rock and electronic sound. There are some high points to this album though, with the songs Granite and Propane...
