Madness or what Review ofLot, The [ECD] [PA] [Remastered] - Madnessby

Advantages: n/a Disadvantages: n/a
...A lot better than boyband, it comes to life to inspire you. The Lot boasts all of Madness' studio albums, each one digitally remastered and now including four videos each. It also comes with a glossy 36 - page booklet chronicling the band's career. Now the Nutty Boys were never really renouned as an album's band, but this collection is surprisingly easy on the ear, if a little over generous. However, their latest album, the recently released Wonderful, is missing from this puportedly comprehensive collection which is a shame as it quickly proved itself to be one of the band's most enjoyable and cohesive. Still The Lot is still an impressive and economical stocking filler. Or why not buy ir for yourself?...

A new beginning Review ofKeep The Faith [ECD] [Remastered] - Bon Joviby
welshpete
Advantages: Some corkers, especially Dry County Disadvantages: Some very weak tracks
...After years without a new studio album, Bon Jovi patched up their differences and set about recording a new kind of Bon Jovi album. Though the consistency of tracks is nowhere near that of 'Slippery When Wet' or 'New Jersey', individual songs stand out above the rest, and make up for this. Songs like 'Dry County' come along once on a while and represent the pinnacle of a band's writing. Ok, so it's long, but the substance is there for all to see. 'Bed of Roses' and 'In these Arms' showed they could still write songs with mass appeal. However, the less said about 'Fear' and 'A Little Bit of Soul' the better.
A different kind of album? yes. A better kind of album? Not yet - not many people get things just right when they change...look to These Days for a better post 'New Jersey' effort....

Highway to Hell Review ofHighway To Hell [ECD] [Remastered] - AC/DCby
bengear8
Advantages: Kick ass Rock, never gets old, AC/DC Disadvantages: none
...The opening chords are so simple yet so powerful.
You know your on a ride to hell and back.
Back in the prime of rock the lads of AC/DC produce one of there greatest masterpieces.
The guitars sound great, Bons vocals are as powerful as ever.
if only they created music like this nowadays.
Unfortunately this was to be Bon's last venture on CD as he died days before he was due into the studio to start creating lyrics for the new AC/DC album.
Overall a great album that never gets old, put it on in your car and you can't go wrong.
AC/DC fans will be glad to know the lads have got a new album out end of 2008 with a world tour shortly after :)
Rock On
Ben...
