Album Notes: Damnation AD: Mike DC (vocals); KO (guitar); Alex Merchlinsky (bass guitar); Colin Kercz (drum).
Album Reviews: Alternative Press (p.174) - 3.5 stars out of 5 -- "THE NEXT does a good job bringing DAD into the present with the sharpest production this band have seen."
Advantages: Solid three-chord rock n' roll. Mid priced CD. Disadvantages: You'll either love this or hate it, there is no middle ground.
...just broke his heart, “What’s Next To The Moon” is a tongue-in-cheek tale of revenge on another cheating partner, and so on.
Other stand-out tracks include “Sin City”, “Riff Raff” and “Gone Shootin”, but it would be unfair to judge this album on the merits of any one track. This is by far one of the most consistent albums in the AD/DC back catalogue, taking a simple premise (bluesy, three-chord rock, with quite rough vocals), and imbues it with something that’s larger than life, oft imitated, yet never bettered.
I’d heartily recommend this if you like Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones or newer bands such as Reef or The Stereophonics (when they can actually locate their distortion pedals.)...

Advantages: Rock and Roll Damnation Disadvantages: Gimme a Bullet
...This is a good CD and one that I enjoy. Contains great songs and my favourites on this CD - such as Rock and Roll Damnation, Riff Raff, Sin City, Whats Next To The Moon and Kicked In The Teeth. This isn't my favourite AC/DC album but its still an enjoyable rocking album. When I first listened to this I thought it was poor but the more I listened to it the more I enjoyed it and loved some of the songs. The songs I menitioned above are in my top play list but the others wouldn't be. But when listening to AC/DC its still songs that I won't skip unlike some othe songs from other albums. There's no rubbish songs here and AC/DC fans will enjoy this CD....

Advantages: Creates an atmosphere felt with very few albums Disadvantages: You have to be in the right mood to listen to it
...Already being the proud owner of five different cradle of filth albums, when my dad decided he disliked "Damnation and a day" i offered him a few quid for it. What i received was my favourite Cradle album.
The album creates a huge atmosphere and in depth world. This is mainly done because it features the 40-piece Budapest Film Orchestra and 32-piece Budapest Film Choir.
The concept
The album is in four parts. The first two parts tell of the fall of lucifer and the third and fourth parts are about satan's manipulation on Earth. So overall the album is based on the old testament.
The lyrics
The lyrics are some of my favourites. "Angels in raiments, As pure as coal, Taking their payments, In tortured mortal souls" The lyrics arn't for the faint hearted and arn't too popular with Christians but they are intelligent. You cannot...
