Not Terribly Cultured

Advantages: More high points than their debut
Disadvantages: But that's not saying much

considered special on its own. Strangely, Orson's lead singer Jason Pebworth wrote a couple of tracks for the latest Sugababes album which, although they wouldn't have suited the band's sound, were far superior to anything here. Although the overall quality of the album is greater than their debut, listening here I can't help but feel that they peaked with their debut single and haven't been able to live up to it. "Culture Vultures" is 11 tracks and 41 minutes of nothing particularly special and unless you can catch it for a penny on eBay or 98 pence on the Amazon Marketplace, you're better off just downloading the highlights and leaving the album as a whole well alone. ...

A Passage To India

Advantages: It got me an A in Higher English
Disadvantages: I spent a year reviewing it!

?A Passage to India? by E.M Forster, is a novel set at the end of the British Raj over India. Set in the fictional city of Chandrapore, Forster clearly explores the problems with the British bureaucracy ruling a country they knew very little about. Despite being based on the poem ?A Passage to India? by Walt Whitman, Forster contrasts every theory explored in this poem. While the Suez Canal was an act of blending two cultures together Forster depicts the lack of connection between the two races. As a result prejudice and interaction between the East and West become prevailing themes. Adela Quested has come to India to meet her possible future husband, Ronny Heaslop ? who is the city magistrate of this fictional city. Mrs Moore too has accompanied her, being Ronny?s mother. When they arrive they are ardent to see the ?real? India ...

Cultures

Advantages: Fun for all, relaxing to play
Disadvantages: A little too slow if your after a bit more action

Cultures is a resource management game based around Vikings. You control a small group of Vikings and train them to do various jobs like being a huntsman, baker, farmer, etc and you build them places to live and work. The game is cute and the Vikings do not go rampaging about the land, looting and pillaging. It's not that kind of game and they aren't those kind of Vikings. You build your community. Male Vikings go to work and female Vikings cook them dinner and have babies. When two Vikings get married and have somewhere to live, you can tell them to have a baby. The baby arrives and grows up. Once the baby (boy) reaches adulthood, you can train him to do whatever job might be required. Baby girls grow into women, who then have more children (if you want). Care needs to be taken to ensure that there is enough food ...
