randomly meet in the street and become firm friends. They realise they have the same birthday, calling themselves 'BloodBrothers. The paranoid Mrs Lyons persuades her family to move away to keep the boys apart but eventually the Johnstones are re-housed to the same area the Lyons are moved to bringing the boys together again.
The second act follows Mickey and Eddie (the boys) as teenagers along with close friend Linda. The story sees Eddies life go from strength to strength whilst Mickeys spirals out of control. Their is a tragic twist to the end of this play but it is the most compelling play i have ever seen.
I thoroughly recommend this to anyone. So far I have seen it 5 times and am hoping to see it again. I have never not known it get a standing ovation. The quality of lyrics, music and acting is always fantastic and cant be beaten ...

After seeing BloodBrothers at the Phoenix Theatre, I must agree that it is one of the most streamlined performances I have seen in the past. The play BloodBrothers is set in Liverpool, which interestingly was also the birthplace of the writer Willy Russell who was born just outside Liverpool. In this essay, I will be writing about the effect of and use of dramatic tension in the play. I will also be reviewing the plays general strengths and weaknesses.
