Advantages: Good selection of skream tracks Disadvantages: the frequencies tend to stay in the same conceptual space too often
This mix is quite a hefty run through of all the big tracks of 2007 in the world of Dub-step (which is a relatively new but ever-increasingly popular music genre). The sound is from London and the UK (which is where most of the producers on the mix come from. The tracks are based upon what DJ Skream likes personally and what he plays at DJ sets (or was in the 2007-2008 period).
Kulture kicks off the mix with a reggae infuse synth bassline rizing track which gets the energy levels pumping straight from the outset (interesting way to start a mix!) Next is a track from Skream himself which was popular one on pirate radio and in D clubs 'wobble that gut' with minimal progressive beats and bass-lines. Next is another skream track of a remix of a garage track by dj zinc. Its got bass technical-wobbles and a sick vocal (cool). Then its Skream ...
Advantages: Great variety, Awesome songs, Superior Mixing by Andy C! Disadvantages: Wish it was longer!!
Having always been an Andy C fan, I got this CD as soon as I heard about it and saw that it had received several awards which made me even more excited!
The variety of tracks found on the two CDs is amazing! 29 tracks on the first CD and 14 on the 2nd. Eventhough the tracks vary so much, they way they are mixed together byAndy C just makes the whole CD flow along into one long pleasurable experience!
I actually took this cd to my friends in the states to listen on the long drives there and they listen to country and rock.. but after I played this CD we were listening to it over and over on the long drives! I gotta say, fantastic road music, makes the drive go by quickly.
Some amazing songs on the 1st CD including:
Logitics - Together
DJ Fresh - Submarines
Subfocus - X-Ray
Ed Rush - Bacteria
Calyx - Headhunter

Advantages: Good quality recording Disadvantages: Mad, mad, bonkers, mad!
What can I say, I recieved this album as a present which if I remember rightly was about £15 in 2004.
It features two discs by Anne Savage and one disc byAndy Whitby.
Not to my tastes at all, certainally not chilled whatsoever.
It is mad, mad, mad all the way through.
But if you like drum and bass, hard house etc then I would recommend this compilation.
Both DJ's are credible professionals and there is a good quality of music on here.
The CD's are individually cased and are attractive in design.
You certainally have to be in the right mood to appreciate this stuff, it will keep you awake, probably all night! I would semi-recommend this album but make a careful choice when considering.
I would list the tracks but there are far too many. ...
