Advantages: original sounds, uplifting Disadvantages: a few weak songs
...The kooks, a four piece band from Brighton, recently released their debut album, Inside in/Insideout which hit number 8 on the album chart in it's first week of release.
It is a shame that they brought out their album on the same day as the overly hyped Arctic Monkeys as this shadowed their under appreciated musical talent. In my opinion it beats the Arctic Monkeys album hands down and deserves much more attention.
The album opens with a short acoustic song "Seaside" that shows a fragile side to singer Luke Pritchard as this song is possibly referring to a past experience in his hometown.
"See The World" then explodes with screaming guitars and develops into an energetic and outstanding track. This is then followed by the sweet melody of "Sofa Song" with a catchy chorus and great riffs.
The next track is the debut single from...

Advantages: amazing piano improvisation Disadvantages: not for people who don't appreciate improvisation
...One of the most respected pianists of our time, KeithJarrett, gives with the "Koln concert" a good definition of what improvisation is. Innovation, creativity, the feeling of uncertainty. KeithJarrett is the kind of pianist that emerged during the 60's deeply influenced by Bill Evans and got mixed up with all sorts of jazz styles: fusion, bop, funk, avant garde and even classical music. In this recording you can find all his musical influences, concentrated in an improvisational way, unfolding in front of your eyes, or maybe ears. The result is quite amazing, if you think that KeithJarrett wnated to actually cancel this concert because the piano that he was provided with, was not of top quality. For people who love piano and moreover improvisation in general, this is certainly a priority choice....

Advantages: Very catchy songs Disadvantages: Songs could be longer.
...This is a very good album with many songs that could be released as singles. It has 14 very catchy tunes that can become very addictive and youll find that theyll never get out of your head!
It opens with a very mellow tune 'Seaside' which introduces the album well and livens up by the time of 'You Dont Love Me'. The highlights of the album comes in 'Naive' and 'She Moves In Her Own Way', which had great success in the UK charts.
The lyrics on the album are sometimes very indie cliche at times, but if you manage to get over that it is a very good album to listen as the summer sets in!
It is a good basic guide to British Indie at the moment, and i would widely reccommend it to anyone no matter what your music tastes!...
