Advantages: Lovely Finishes, Brilliant Manufacture, Sturdy Hardware Disadvantages: Stock drum heads, but easily swapped for new ones!
I purchased a Sonor kit 3007 shortly after christmas and its stood upto countless gigs, and even 2 recording sessions! The 3000 series of drums (3001 ~ 3007) have not much difference, except Lugs and Finishes mainly. My 3007 was purchased in sizes 8",10",12",14",16",20" with a 12" snare drum (not sonor, Mapex Black Panther) The construction of the wood is immaculate and the finish is as well! Hardware is very sturdy, im a big fan of the sonor 200 and 400 series' of hardware, having at last count, around 9 stands of either 200 or 400 make! The pedal is very sturdy, i replaced it with my Gibraltar Double Pedal. The stock drum heads are as standard, tuned well they pricked ears up, but not as well as my catchphrase Evans G2 over Hydraulic Black's. After reheading and retuning (i tune mine over a large spectrum so i can get a great wash ...
Advantages: Money saved, job satisfaction, can be shared with friends Disadvantages: Cost to set up, a job for the summer days
strongly advise you to carry out a service just after a MOT. Thereby you have your vehicle professional checked over for the safety related items as part of the MOT leaving you the less important items to service a couple of days later. Doing this, will stop any chance of missing something important that can be safety related.
Once you have the confidence to carry out regular repairs you can also save money carrying out DIY installations on various extras such as additional lighting, installing radio/cds upgrades & other useful accessories.
Here is a list of some 20 basic tools you would need, all can easily purchased from an accessory shop such as Halfords or over the Internet. If you spread the cost with friends it can reduce the overall cost considerably. I haven?t however included a tool box to store them.

I've just finished installing 2 pairs of these speakers with the JBL Control SB2 Sub Bass Speaker. The single cone Sub is designed to drive 2 pairs of top speakers in stereo.
Having switched the system on for the first time today and got some music running through it I was primarily amazed at the projection of these little babies. They throw the sound really well and the overall sound I can describe in one word: Crisp!
Without the Sub Bass unit these speakers extend down to 80hz which is a respectable figure for such a compact cabinet. I would imagine that, on their own these speakers would make ideal candidates for background music in bars, cafe's and restaurants. They would also make pretty tasty surround speakers in a Dolby setup and are a viable alternative for home hi-fi for those who want a more professional sound. Do not ...

Album Notes
Rinocerose: Jean-Philippe Freu (guitar, Flamenco guitar, e-bow); Remi Saboul (guitar, lap steel guitar); Johnny Palumbo (guitar, Fender Rhodes piano, synthesizer, programming); Patrice Carrie (guitar, bass, triangle); Florian Brinker (guitar); Franck Gauthier (flute); Fred Ladoue (congas, bongos, shaker, maracas); Chris Hawkes. Additional personnel: Daniel Martinez (harmonica). Recorded at Studio Bernard Blier, Les Aubes, Montpellier, France. Personnel: Franck Gauthier (flute). Recording information: Studio Bernard Blier, Les Aubes, Montpellier, France. A 10-person instrumental collective, mixing house beats with rocked-up, psyched-up instrumental interplay, Rinocerose is further proof that the French pop music revival isn't all Parisian lounge-techno and sweetened retro soundscapes. INSTALLATION SONORE, the Montpellier-based group's debut, veers between a variety of club-ready grooves and an iconoclastic approach to modern music making. Rinocerose's general approach is to lay down the house beats and let the guitars power chord freely. At its most freewheeling, as on the stomping Daft Punk-like opener "La Guitaristic House Organisation," this is music for party people who love to get down. However the band can be just as inclined to introspection, as on the self-descriptive "323 Secondes de Musique Repetitive avec Guitarre Espagnole." The difference between Rinocerose and most of its beat-happy counterparts is made clear on "Popular Mechanics," a slowly unfolding Spiritualized-like anthem featuring four guitars snaking under skittering hi-hats and echoed Brazilian chants.

CMJ (3/27/00, p.24) - "...Its mesmerizing drone and twangy funk of electronic guitars , lulling flutes and dubby bass licks...links rock ethics and dance design like few albums before it."
