International Superhits - Green Day

Advantages: Some terrific tracks are included in this collection.
Disadvantages: The two new tracks recorded for this release are not very good.

'International Superhits' was released in late 2001, a greatest hits compilation album featuring two new songs also. The two new songs are those of 'Maria' and 'Poprocks & Coke', neither of which I find to be particularly enjoyable; the rest of the album however is definitely worth taking a listen to. Twenty one tracks are featured here; the two newly recorded tracks are featured first and then nineteen of the bands greatest 'International Superhits' ...
...most commercially successful album 'Dookie'. The most obviously included track here is of course 'Basket Case', it's those of 'Welcome to Paradise' and 'She' that appeal to me most here however. Both of the tracks I feel are absolutely excellent, these two are easily my favourites from the bands 'Dookie' album and many times I have listened to them over the years. Green Day were the first band I liked during my 'Crossover' from Rap to Rock. I loved how they'd sing just happy and merry songs yet have some of the deepest and most thought provoking lyrics. They're kind of a perfect middle between heavy-metal and soft rock, with a little bit of shouting in some songs, yet they'd maintain their cool and not go to overboard while shouting like maniacs. ...Joe Armstrong (Vocals and guitar) the hilarious long time friend of Billie Joe, Mike Dirnt (Lead guitarist) and the last addition to the band, John Kiffmeyer (Drummer). It is, was and hopefully always will be that exact line-up. This is the last Green Day album to date, (Unless you count 'Shenanigans' which was brought out earlier this year, but we won't, as that is just a compilation of all the B-side recordings.) and it was brought out in 2001. ... ...for £8.99, an absolutely great price for such an amazing album, with 21 tracks. It doesnt matter if you have all of their previous albums, its nice to have all their best tracks on one album, so you dont have to keep switching. Music: The style of music is punk rock, as any fan would know.
