Okay, so some of you may remember my last opinion that I wrote about Westlife. I was none to pleasant about them then, but am now prepared to eat humble pie and retract my hither comments.
This is due to my going to their concert last saturday in Manchester. Having previously not been a fan of their music, I was mainly going for the night out. Imagine my shock when I realised that they could hold a tune, and dance to boot.
It was a really good show, featuring all their number one singles, and some of their album tracks. I must confess to singing along a bit myself!
What shocked me though was the fact that they never once sat on a stool for the whole show (I refer to their reputation as a band that never get up off their stools till the last chorus of the song).
The highlight of the night was their rendition of Uptown Girl, the upcoming Comic Relief single. While the only letdown was the apparent reluctance of Bryan to let any moment of silence pass without whooping wildly into the microphone.
Overall, it was a very good show and my opinion of them has changed. For the better!
