After ten years Michael Jackson has blessed us (if you like his music that is) with another album. This is in celebration of his thirty years in the singing business. From the Jackson five (remember little Michael?) up to now I have liked his music, not an ardent fan admittedly, but nevertheless I still enjoy it.

I recall like yesterday the little brown boy singing lead in the family groups of five. But somewhere over the years, the little brown boy has tried to bleach himself white, and change his bonny little face into something monstrous! But that’s another story!

This album comes as I said to celebrate his 30th anniversary in show business, and it is another fine offering.

Track 1: Unbreakable. The introduction to this is hypnotising and a little long. A beaty little number: with lyrics to match (6.25).

Track 2: Heartbreaker. Typically Jackson: singing about a girl who’s a heartbreaker. The music is lyrically catching but slightly too over powering for his voice. (5.10)

Track 3: Invincible. The name of the album: and one of my favourites from the album. Still with the ‘beaty’ undertones, but this time more vocal are heard. (4.45)

Track 4: Break of dawn. It took almost ten seconds before I heard anything out of the speakers on this track, but once it came it was one of the more melodic, more appeasing tracks. (5.32)

Track 5: Heaven can wait. Starting with the sounds of xylophones being played, again this is one of the quieter tunes on the album. (4.49)

Track 6: You rock my world. This is the single that was released from the album. And is one of my favourites, which inspired me to buy the album. (5.39)

Track 7: Butterflies. A pleasant tune-with typical Michael feel. Butterflies tell us how Michael feels when he is approaching a ‘fe’. (4.40)

Track 8: Speechless. Opening with Michael ‘speak/singing’. It is the shortest track on the album and another of my favourites (probably the favourite actually). A-slow-thought-provoking-song. (3.18)

Track 9: 2000 watts. Compared to the previous track this one will wake you up. It is loud and beaty. A-sort-of-futuristic-film-feeling-to-it. Still a nice sing-a-long-able-song (4.24)

Track 10: You are my life. Slowing things down again this reminds me of he’s hit single Ben (though no much like it). Another thought provoking song, which I like but isn’t in my favourites. (4.33)

Track 11: Privacy. Opens with the sounds of children, presumably (listening to the words I could manage to grab it has something the allegations he faced a while back (but I could be wrong) nevertheless, this is one of the ones I least liked on the album and also one of the longest! (5.05)

Track 12: Don’t walk away. Getting back to the better tunes, this is a pleasant resting song, begging his’ loved one not to go. The sort of tune you could ‘smooch’ to with your own loved one. (4.25)

Track 13: Cry. Unlucky for some, and certainly the reason why this track is placed at number 13 must be because it’s the worse of the bunch? (5.01)

Track 14: The lost children: Now as much as I have tried to ‘lose my teenagers’ but-they-are still here and still given me grief! However this song is a touching song based on a prayer. A definite hit for those who love the slow thoughtful song. (4.00)

Track 15: Whatever happens: The penultimate track on this album. Whatever happens Michael Jackson will still be a millionaire, so I don’t suppose he’ll mind too much whether you buy this album or not? But this track is an excellent one well worth listening to, and what ever happens –don’t let go of my hand! (4.25)

Track 16. Threatened. Some whispering at the start of this had me asking my daughter what she wanted. However it does turn into a good track, with one annoying thing. A roar every few seconds or so, that echo through the speakers (((((((((roar)))))))))…(4.19)

All in all it is a good album that if worth buying if you are a definite Jackson fan, if you can take or leave him, then it’d probably be best left. I don’t think he has beaten any records on this album, and nothing matched the wonders of his previous massive hits. (I’d say you’d be better buying the new Gabrielle album out soon-will be a lot better I guess?) M J was the executive producer on the album, which has SIXTEEN tracks on.(Number in brakcet equals length of track)

Buy from Woolworth’s or other high street stores you might pay £12.99 or so for it, but from CD-WOW it’s just £8.99 (free p&p).

Jacko has done so well to get where he is, but his career has been going downhill since the early 90’s. Good op, but I don’t think I’ll buy it!
