Advantages: The welcome return of some faces.

Another top track from the nation's pop idol. 10) Night & Day - featuring Korben. How this guy was voted off first I will never know. A great voice and personality in his vocals enable Korben to perform one of the strongest tracks on this album. Like Gareth, he has chosen to sing a well-known classic but unlike Gareth he pulls it off to a tee and really makes the song his own. This is a real stand-out track and due to being voted off so early, a really pleasant surprise as well. 11) Cheek To Cheek - featuring Rosie. This was the track on the album I was least looking forward to as I would rather listen to two cats screeching through a fight than listen to Rosie warble her... Read review

Advantages: Relentless, uplifting, anthemic dance music
Disadvantages: Some weak tracks, formulaic

...of the tracks on this album will also feature on a trendy Cream CD, but because they'll have been mixed by some “top geezer” then they’ll be instantly more credible. I don’t go in for all this pretentious rubbish. I just like music that sounds good, puts me in the right mood and keeps me uplifted for the rest of the night. If you’re looking for the “right” music, arranged in the “right” way and mixed by the “right” people, this probably isn’t for you. Still with me? Gosh, you do want to know more don’t you? The fourth in the Clubland series repeats the tried and tested formula of the previous three volumes. The sound here is commercial pop/dance/trance music. Advantages: Whatever they release, it'll be better than One True Voice

...Which one do you fancy? Like five brand new models off the pop conveyer belt, Girls Aloud are the Quality Street of modern pop... actually, make that the Celebrations of modern pop (Quality Street just sounds too regal for five girls plucked off Britain's council estates). Maybe it's blonde, leggy Sarah, pouting Irish 'stunna' Nadine, mouthy and quick-with-her-fists Cheryl Tweedy, the nondescript Kimberly or the ginger one with the frown and unfortunate face? Cheer up darling, you're in a best-selling pop band, no need to look so unhappy... The critic Julie Burchill (the one who used to write for the NME, was married to Tony Parsons and now spends her time desperately trying to stay in the limelight) has described Girls Aloud as 'the best new band since the Sex Pistols'.
