...A mate of mine who is a radio presenter first introduced me to the music of John Williamson. At first, his CDs were only available through Reddington's Rare Records in Birmingham as special imports.
But as the influence of the radio programme they were played on spread (the Ed Doolan Show on BBC Radio WM) John Williamson began doing tours of the Midlands and them of the UK and his CDs became more widely available.
"The Way It Is" is a wonderful introduction to the works of John Williamson who is, in my opinion, probably the best poet musician singer and humorist that Australia has produced in many years. Think of an Australian Max Boyce and you are probably part way to understanding the vibrant and lively appeal of John Williamson.
The first song on the CD is Campfire on the Road. Is a wonderful love song with multiple...

Advantages: She's achieved a lot given her age. Disadvantages: Oh, just read the review.
...work for a certain amount of time, I still feel that perhaps it may be time to go back to the drawing board for album number three.
I have of course not wasted my hard-earned barely over minimum wage cash on the dirt but to her regret my friend has and it is there I have heard it all. Of course, if I were to say that with a certain level of talent she had failed to put one good song on an album of 14 tracks, I'd be sounding a little harsh, (ironic as it sounds). No, she has achieved two tracks which are rather listenable, "Less Is More" and "Torn And Tattered" but after that, it's wasted money.
It all boils down to this. Record executives do need something new, we are all sick of the Britney Spears formula and so a breakthrough in both sound and image such as Joss Stone would appear to be a good idea but personally? I see both J...

Advantages: Soulful lyrics and a wonderful tone to his voice Disadvantages: Some of the rap was unnecessary, slowed down pace overall
...I have recently been introduced to Robin Thicke by a friend and to be honest, being an R 'n' B artist, he would not have been on the top of my list of CDs to get. Having said that, if R 'n' B isn't your first choice either ... you may do yourself an injustice if you don't at least give this a chance. I have been pleasantly surprised by how much this album grows on you. Robin Thicke is a Californian singer who has been writing lyrics for years for others like Christina Aguilera, Brandy and Jordan Knight. The artists who previously sang his songs are by no means a complete representation of his style neither. He has a voice that is gentle and high in some songs but deep and soothing in others. There is no sense that this is manufactured pop like you may get with Christina Aguilera, for example. Robin Thicke is somehwhat of a hidden...
