Advantages: Looks Great, Citrus Flavour, Refreshing Disadvantages: Simple Not Worth The Price
***Review of Lemon and Lime Flavour***
In a vain attempt to reduce the amount of Diet Coke I drink, I have been on the lookout for some different water based drinks, which will ultimately be a little better for me.
I was in the local shop next to work buying my usual afternoon Diet Coke when I spotted ?this water? I am a fan of lemon and citrus drinks and thought i?d give it a go, I paid for my drink (along with a diet coke....what? I?m not perfect!) and was surprised that this 420ml bottle cost £1.55. It had better be good I thought to myself. I know the shop by my work is usually pricey so I?d imagine else where you can pick this up for nearer £1.30.
The reason i picked up this particular flavour, besides my preference for lemon drinks, was that it looked the most refreshing. The label is simple and shows a small blue cloud ...
Advantages: Dark, gritty & enthrawling Disadvantages: A bit slow at times
just teenagers & Shane Meadow?s did a very good job in directing this. Shane Meadow?s also happened to write the film, it?s in a semi-biographical way & depicts working class England in a somewhat real but clichéd way.
If you manage to sit through this film to the end without being completely disgusted then I think you?ll come away with something that wont just go in one ear & out the other, this film really makes you think about it afterwards & one that I can imagine myself remembering for quite a while.
Although it does have some very strong content, it isn?t depicting it as the right thing to do & if you see the ending you?ll realise this, thisis in no way glorifying racism.
Before watching this I was very sceptical as I thought I was just going to be bored to tears for it?s entirety & although this isn?t the fastest moving ...
Advantages: Thomas Turgoose, British, nostalga, powerful, thought provoking Disadvantages: Depressing
Being a "Skinhead Movie" it is inevitable that Thisis England gets compared to American History X. Whereas Shane Meadows' epic portrayal of 1980s Britain isn't as much a social commentary about racism and how to overcome it as American History X is, it does, however, provide the perfect mix of nostalgia, individual insecurity, and violent bigotry that makes Thisis England a personal and powerful experience best approached with your grandmother's old English hanky.
What a weird and wonderful era the 1980s was in Britain. If you're fortunate, or unfortunate, enough to remember a time when Roland Rat and Maggie Thatcher ruled our televisions then you'll find yourself bathing in a mix of nostalgic excitement and/or restraining yourself from smashing the TV to a pulp with the film's opening montage. This sets the menacing air ...
