Advantages: Extremely nostalgic and enjoyable for everyone Disadvantages: A couple of bad song choices, but not enough to detract from the enjoyment
broadcasting its 2000th episode, re-vamping the show and celebrating its 40thanniversary, 'TOTP' was shown for the last time on 30th July 2006, to an audience of 3.98 million.
There are a few special features on this including a behind the scenes making of the show, but its presented by Andi Peters so I haven't watched this, as I find his finger-nails are abnormally long for a man. There is also the option for subtitles, to which one could presumably sing along, but I can't get this to work on my DVD player.
So, there we have it - 40 years of music complied into a 137-minute DVD. I would recommend this - its extremely nostalgic and cheap, and is good for after a dinner party or something. Hopefully, we will see 'TOTP' back on our screens someday - in fact if Simon Cowell does resurrect the programme, I will dress up as him on my work's 'TV ...
Advantages: Classic Bond moments in first half of the film. Disadvantages: Gadgets ruin the film, as does John Cleese as Q.
Madonna who sang the title song of the film has been given a cameo part. Her scene is completely under lit and leaves her looking rather butch. By the way the title song is not one of the memorable ones in the series and can be quite annoying after hearing it a few times.
Released in 2002, the film marked the 40thAnniversary of the franchise. The Gun Barrel sequence was adjusted slightly, a number of reference to all previous films were made throughout the film itself, the most obvious one being in the scene with the new Q where a whole scope of gadgets from previous adventures are seen. , and the use of the Aston Martin made a welcome and long overdue return to the screen as Bond's car of choice as the BMW's were not used in the film at all. The Aston Martin is put to much more use than previous film as Bond uses the car throughout ...
Advantages: Not any really bad tracks on the whole album Disadvantages: None really
Fans of Coronation Street will know that this evergreen soap opera has just celebrated its fortieth anniversary. This album has been issued to celebrate the occasion. The 2 CD compilation features Number One hits from the past forty years, one song for each year counting back from 2000.Now I am sometimes a bit wary of compilation albums;often you get one or two good tracks and a lot of dross, or songs so well-worn that you have them all on other albums. Not so with this album. There are lots of great songs, all hits, all well worth listening to.
The album begins and ends with the Coronation Street theme tune (okay, but this is a tribute album) The album then kicks off with “Fool Again” by Westlife, followed by ”When The Going Gets Tough” by Boyzone.Neither group is really my choice, but they’re not bad ...

Album Reviews
Entertainment Weekly (7/24/98, p.75) - "...Island's eclecticism helped define a significant musical era. One-song-per-artist collections can hardly do justice to the label's achievement, but choice tracks will have you digging out dusty LPs from the closet..." - Rating: B
