After having a great result with Follow The Leader and various singles such as Freak On A Leash reaching high in the charts KoRn decided to release this album in November 99. It seems that in this album KoRn have thought about this album alot more than their past albums because if you compare songs such as Beg For Me and Falling Away From Me to Dirty and 4U you will notice that they have a totally different tempo, when in past albums various songs sounded the same. This album is mainly once again about KoRn's vocalist's (Jonathan Davis) problems and his pain and suffereing but it seems that he has learnt to control his anger and lets it out when he feels the time is right. Also Korn held a competition with MTV for people to design a front cover, which also shows that they care for their fans.
Track Listing:
1.Dead An eerie intro which sets the mood for the album which see Jon playing the bagpipes and with little vocals,it is also played for a brief moment at the end
of the Make Me Bad video. A nice intro the album.
2.Falling Away From Me This song is about child abuse and starts off with an echo riff and then comes into a heavy section and then more great lyrics come into play with a good chorus. The video was directed by Limp Bizkit and was nominated for an award.
3.Trash A strong and dark song with Jonathan speakin in a husky voice in some parts and then lowly singing other words. It has a fairly decent chorus and is fairly catchy if u like this sort of tune and tempo.
4.4U A nice slow song about doing stuff for a special person , its a different style for KoRn and they play it well. It could've been a bit longer but it is one of my favs.
5.Beg for Me Jonathan said he likes to think of this track and a revenge song for all the people who pushed him around when he was young but now tons of people worship him as their role model. A nice and hip tune. But isn't one of my favs.
6.Make Me Bad A great song which is also accompanied with a great video which includes several celebrities.This song is about being tempted to do the wrong thing. This is one of the best songs in the albums and includeds alot of special effects so if you hear it live it will sound different but i like raw sound so i prefer to hear it live.
7.Its Gonna Go Away A mysterious song with a slow tempo and is a nice song to listen to when you want to calm down and relax.
8.Wake Up A good song but features too much un-needed swearing in my opinion, this song is about when KoRn started to argue and nearly broke up in '96 , thankfully they didnt.
9.Am I Going Crazy. Another mysterious song with another slow tempo not as good as other tracks and i suppose its about him going crazy.
10.Hey Daddy A great song with a good chorus, its played well live aswell which is always a good thing. This song is also about drugs and where he is getting confused, and how they pick him up when he is down. An eerie song with a strong chorus.
11.Somebody Someone This song is one of my favs when its played live because Head(guitarist) is a great back-up vocalist in my oppinion.This song is about when you are all alone and depressed and when you need Somebody Someone another one of my favourites from this album.
12.No Way Some people seem to dislike this song but for me it's one of my favourites i dont know why it just seems that i like the heavy riffs and i find it catchy but some people may disagree.
13.Let's Get This Party Started This song is a masterpeice but is very awkward to play if you want to learn it on guitar. It's also played well live. This song is about when they had just started a tour and they didn't want to let their fans down.
14.Wish You Could Be Me A nice song to mix in with track 13. Its another short song and is basically saying that you should see things from his point of view. A good song to show that Jon can have a good sense of rhythm.
15.Counting This isn't one of my favs but i think its nice to start rounding off the album. I find it similar to No Way because it is in the same sort of style. One of the albums weaker links.
16.Dirty A really complicated tune to play on guitar as this song is played in so many different styles. A nice song which isn't too aggressive or too slow its sort of a mix and it blends well. At the end of the song there is a white noise which sound the sound you get when your tv is cut out in a storm.
Overall a good album which shows that KoRn can vary their style rather than sticking to the same basic music. It also shows that they can mix different styles and can still come out with a decent album. I still prefer their first album though.

Great op! I'm not a huge fan of KoRn but I do admire them as a band and I do dig most of their music, I'm looking forward into seeing how the new album is, I've heard the new single from it and it sounds alot more rockier and heavier.
