Advantages: everything from music, vocals, lyrics, preformance Disadvantages: not one
So what are you doing when you hear deranged fucked up (excuse the language) lyrics mixed in with electronic sounds/music, vocals that sound terrifying but give you some sort of warmth and hope however also as if your in some sort of gory horror film, ahh yes that's right your listening to Skinny Puppy.
I find out about this band whilst watching the film "the doom generation" (great film by the way) apparently some members of skinny puppy had a minor role in it. When I herd they were industrial that was when I decided to check them out because I'm a huge fan of industrial music. For those of you that don't know what industrial music is let me run you though it:
INDSUTRIAL MUSIC:
Without going into a total essay, long story short, an industrial band normally is a band made up of the usual guitar, bass and drums but normally also ...
Advantages: Good characterisation, provides interesting background details Disadvantages: Disappointing
, the whole thing left me disappointed.
The whole time travel idea is a great one – but I felt Night Watch kind of lost its way and wasn’t sure if it was sci-fi or history. If you enjoy Pratchett, don’t be put off, read it and decide for yourself. Anyone who is new to this author, I wouldn’t start with this book. Try something earlier. (Most people recommend Mort as a good starting point, but my first one was Small Gods.)
It’s always hard to criticise a Pratchett book. This review is quite a negative one, but Night Watch would be a much better read than many of the best works of other authors. This is not my favourite Pratchett by a long way (That title’s currently held by Carpe Jugulum), but it’s still worth a read. Fans who have read many of his previous novels will enjoy this nostalgia ...
Advantages: Oooh, big numbers. Disadvantages: The dead dog ~ what are you, heartless?!!?
.
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night~Time is indeed curious. It is also excellent, slightly scatter~brained yet highly dramatic, and heck, it might even be heart~warming. While there might not really be the impulse to rush and re~read, giving how clear and precise the plot revelations and character developments are, this still deserves 5 stars.
It will also help prevent you from winning a goat...
TCIofDinN~T is published by Jonathan Cape in two different hardback editions, with the ISBN 0-224-06378-2 (adult) and 0385605870 [insert own dashes] (childrens'). The handy price of £10.99 is reduced at amazon and elsewhere. It is also available on audiobook, and is in paperback on April Fools' Day.
It made the long-list of the 2003 Man Booker Prize, and is evidently more entertaining than any that got closer to winning it. It ...

Album Notes
Since Three Dog Night's albums were typically short, single-disc compilations that pair two of them together are not only logical but a good value. Case in point: IT AIN'T EASY/NATURALLY, with 19 tracks from two of the band's releases from 1970, clocks in at just over 68 minutes. The sequencing of IT AIN'T EASY has been changed from the American edition that led off with the disc's biggest hit, "Mama Told Me Not to Come." That song appears here buried in the programming at cut seven, which changes the feel of the finished product. The easy rolling version of Paul Williams' "Out in the Country" was the only other charting nugget, although the first appearance of Elton John's "Your Song," which predated John's own version on his debut by a few months, proves how sharp the group's knack for finding great tunes was. The one original, "Rock and Roll Widow," which is co-credited to all seven members, is the worst track by a large margin, further proving that their strength was finding and covering other artist's material. The opening, Free's "Woman" is an inspired choice and one of IT AIN'T EASY's highlights. NATURALLY, Three Dog Night's second album from 1970, is a better, harder rocking effort, even if its most memorable selection, "Joy to the World," is almost an afterthought as the closing tune. Someone had to dig to unearth Spooky Tooth's soulful "I've Got Enough Heartache," a deep album choice from SPOOKY TWO, but the pay-off is a soulful performance that nonetheless didn't help Tooth's floundering career. The backing group co-penned "Fire Eater," one of the few instrumentals in TDN's catalog; it's a tough, swampy riff rocker that features some sizzling guitar from Mike Allsup that still didn't keep it from getting lost in the band's catalog.
