...", I remember smiling because it's a fun song giving her reasons to chosing not to eat meat, and very valid ones, not cramming the idea down anyone's throat, but just saying it as she sees it. There are 21 tracks on this album and I would struggle to find a flawed song. "Lay Lady Lay" of course famous from being sung by Dylan is a haunting melody, though is probably one of the weakest spots in the album because her rendition of it is too intense. "Garden in the City" is one song that brings back wonderful memories. "When I was young I lived in the Country Clouds were my friends I cannot answer why. Now that I'm grown, I live in the City And Heaven is so far I cannot touch the sky. ... Amazon, HMV and Play are all charging £9.99 for Hunky Dory at the time of writing but I saw it on sale at Fopp the other day (yes, Fopp has risen from the ashes) for just a fiver. There have been a number of reissues of this CD, including a cute LP replica version released in 2007 and available as a Japanese import at around £15. The 1999 reissue (still on sale) is the "remastered" version but, apart from more volume, I'm hard pressed to find any real difference in the sound. Those lucky enough to get their hands on the 1990 reissue will find four bonus tracks on it. These comprise a demo version of Quicksand with a much-simplified acoustic guitar backing and a less polished vocal; an alternative mix of The Bewlay Brothers; a different recording of The Supermen from The Man Who Sold the World album; and a previously-unreleased track... Advantages: Very good songs

...happy with her just the way she is. One cannot help but wonder how this song would have turned out if his wife was a bit ugly. "I love you…but you have put on a few pounds lately…" may not have gone down quite as well laydeez of the world. So it's lucky that Mrs Joel was as lovely as the sax solo that bisects this song, and even lovelier than Robbo 2000's karaoke version, the last performance of which received at least three claps from the people gathered in the pub (only two of whom were Robbo's friends). The lyrics may seem saccharine or clichéd, but bear in mind that this was thirty years ago, when clichés probably hadn't been invented yet.
