In keeping with my reviews so far today here is another Michael Buble one (I promise it will be my last!) I absolutely love this album and since I bought it a couple of months ago it has barely left my CD player!

Who is he?: For those of you that don't know Michael Buble is a jazz singer often compared to English star Jamie Cullum. Michael takes songs from the past and transforms them and makes them his own, introducing great songs from the past to people that would not hear them otherwise. He also takes songs such as 'Can't Buy me Love' by The beatles and 'Crazy Little Thing Called Love' by Queen and turns them into great Jazz songs. Every song he sings is completely different to the original. Michael was introduced Jazz music by his grandfather Mitch, it was a hard business to break into and Mitch who was a plumber offered jazz musicians at local bars his services as a plumber if they let Michael sing with them to gain some experience. It has taken Michael ten years to get to where he is, initially appearing in Jazz bars and selling CD's he had financed himself. Michael's big break came when, singing a wedding he was introduced to David Foster signed him and made him into the star he is today. Michael released his self-titled album in February 2003 and sold millions of copies worldwide and this is his second album released with his record company.

The songs are such a rich mix and his voice is even more versatile than ever. Michael's first album sold millions of copies world wide and was so successful it was bound to be a hard act to follow but this CD is so amazing and different from anything else there is no question that it will be just as successful, if not more so than the first album.

Michael's song choices, writing and voice are all so much more progressed than in the debut album. He boy is going to be big. He is going to be mainstream- and he deserves every fan he captures… and with an album like this, there is no doubt in my mind that there will be a HUGE increase in fans.

My only criticism is (yes, that's right), I don't think that Michael is suited to doing scats… I don't know why- it just throws me off a little at the end of my favourite song, 'Song for you' he scats and it just doesn't seem to fit him and I normally end skipping the end! Ok here is the review track by track:
Feeling Good: This but this song cannot fail to capture hearts. His voice is so deep and sexy and when he starts singing at the beginning without any accompaniment you know you're in for great things with this CD. A very deep and heavy song to listen to, a fantastically sexy song… much like Fever to start with. You just can't help to move to this song. The power in his voice at certain points is in perfect contrast to the soft tones in others.

Foggy Day in London Town: WOW! I had never heard this song until I saw Michael on tour and even then I wasn't overly impressed but I absolutely love it now, it has really grown on me and its a really feel good song. Again, you can't help moving to this song, whether it is a full on dance or just toe tapping. The age of miracles CERTAINLY hasn't passed. The sun definitely will be shining for Michael everywhere.

You Don't Know Me: Beautiful. This is another song I hadn't heard until this CD was released (although I now know Ray Charles wrote it) but the words and melody really got to me the first time I heard it. Everyone can relate to loving someone but having to keep it hidden away because they don't feel the same or your too scared. The song really strikes a chord and it's just amazingly beautiful and is sung with such emotion.

Quando Quando Quando: An unusual sound is my first thought. Not very Bublé-esq. But then, he starts singing… now, that's more like it. " Ah, Nelly Furtado- hmm, I don't like her at all, I am not sure whether I like the sound of her voice with Michael's. They work quite well in harmony, but one after another is putting me off a little… I don't know why exactly, it is one of my least favourite songs on the album but is a lot better than some artist's strongest tracks.

Home: This song made me cry. Whilst listening to it I could not see for tears. It is the most heart felt song I have heard in a very long time. It is obvious to anyone, even if they're not a fan that Michael has put his heart and soul into the very production of this song. The lyrics are so beautiful. Definitely one my favourites at the minute, although he sounds so homesick it makes me want to buy him a plane ticket to Canada!
"This was not your dream but you always believed in me"- has there ever been more beautiful words sung? I love this song. Really and truly love it.

Money Can't Buy Me Love: A cover of the Beatles classic. I wasn't too sure when I heard this song was going to be on the CD The Beatles were so amazing I don't think anyone should ever cover any of their songs as they just won't be as good but this version is so different you actually forget its a Beatles song. I don't know how he does it but Michael has the ability to take any song and make it sound his own, I mean before I heard it I would have laughed if someone said I would love a Jazz version of a Beatles song! Toe tapping at it's very best. A very good variation on the original, I am getting the "Mack the Knife" feel. That very lively and 'happening' atmosphere. The bass sounds fabulous. I love the ending on this, very classy. .

The More I See You: Very jazzy. Very traditional. I love just Michael's voice over the bass on it's own. In fact, I just love Michael's voice over plain music, it just goes so well- but it is perfectly balanced by the rich instrumentals. I love the variations on the word "lost" and "imagine". This will be fantastic on stage. WOW! How low did his voice go then… I know he is a baritone but that was like Barry White low. Scats again. Hm, I'm really not sure what I make of the scats. But other than that- it is fantastic!

Save the Last Dance For Me: Has a Latin feel to it. Perhaps in irony, but this is definitely a song to dance to. Michael's voice has definitely captured my heart forever with this album. Definitely something that needs a tango or something to it. It reminds me of when Michael performed on "Strictly Come Dancing", something he should have sung then, or on the Royal Variety Performance when the finalists danced there too. Fantastic ending. Only complaint I have with this one is in the middle of the song there is an instrumental section and it sounds so similar to the one in 'Sway' on the first album I keep forgetting which song it is I'm listening to!

Try a little tenderness: My least favourite song on the album. To be honest I have never liked this song so something spectacular would have to happen to make me like it. Michael's vocals do sound amazing on this song as they do on most songs but I just really can't stand to listen to it the majority of the time!

How Sweet It Is: I love this song sooooooo much! When IO first got the album I heard this and was like I really don't like that but it has grown on me so much and is one of my favourites. Michael's voice on this is spectacular; I cant put into words how much I love this song!

Song for you: I feel like I am repeating myself now. Beautiful introduction and his voice just a pure and perfect as ever. I. This will be fantastic when performed for an audience. There is so much feeling in this song and it's had me close to tears on more than one occasion! I just think this is so beautiful. Apart from the scats!

I've Got You Under My Skin: Very upbeat. I love the original, and love this too. I just have visions of Michael on some small stage somewhere clicking and jutting his hips. I really like the little ad-libs. Fantastic transition between lines.

You and I: Like the first album, a nice and smooth one to conclude. Its a beautiful song and a perfect one to end to as it finished the album on such a high note and makes you want to listen to it all again!

My opinion: Can you tell from the above that I absolutely love this album? I have never had an album that I have enjoyed as much as I do this one.

Would I recommend it? If you like Jazz music then why don't you have it already? its amazing!. I also think people that like mainstream pop would enjoy it as some of the songs are quite mainstream. Obviously if you like Heavy Metal music this isn't going to be your cup of tea! Overall I think most people would love this CD. I was initially the only fan of Michael I knew but since this album came out my 67 year old Mum loves it, My 85 year Old Grandma, My 11 Year old niece and my 6 year old nephew. It appeals to everyone of all ages and backgrounds.

Packaging: On the front there is a lovely picture of Michael in a suit in front of a white background. Inside there are the album credits and thank you's and a few new pictures of Michael.

Price: Ranges from £9.97 to £13.99 depending where you go. There is also a Limited Edition available that contains two extra songs and a poster but if your not a fan stick with this copy as the two extra songs aren't his best so you won't be missing much.

Ratings: Although all but one of the songs are covers I'm giving it Groundbreaking for Originality because the songs are so different from the original. It's very easy to forget that the songs are covers.

Excellent review for an excellent album! Glad there are others who appreciate the wonderful Michael Buble.

Great review, I also love him, went to see him last year with my mum, and my boyfriends mum and sister. He is absolutely fantastic live! Home made me cry too, I just want to hug him, he is so cute. I'd have to disagree on one point though, you said "Obviously if you like Heavy Metal music this isn't going to be your cup of tea!", I like heavy metal and I love this! But honestly, your review was great and it's obvious you have listened to this over and over again, just like me :P xxx
