...The Glenn Miller Orchestra UK was founded by Ray McVay in the 80's . This was done after talks with the Glenn Miller Estate, who had listened to many of Ray McVay's tracks. Who is Ray McVay? Ray McVay was born in the late 30's in Scotland. He became a professional musician at the tender age of 13 as a rocking sax player. In the 50's he became a music director for many big names such as Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochran, Conway Twitty and Billy Fury. As Rays name got bigger and better known in the music industry, and fronted his own show band known as the Ray McVay Orchestra. He started to play for the Mecca Organization playing around the country before headlining at Mecca's big venue, the Lyceum Ballroom in London's west end.. ...Background ¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥ Before anybody reads and rates this review, I want to stress that this review is for The Red Road album by Bill Miller, and not the live recording. Unfortunately The Red Road was not available to review so this had to suffice. With that being said on with the review. Bill Miller is a native American singer/song writer of some excellence. Born in 1955 his native name is Fush-Ya Heay Aka, meaning bird song. He is from the Stockbridge-Munsee Mohican tribe. On February 13th 2005 Bill won a Grammy for best native American music, a fitting accolade showing his tenacity and skill for producing quality music recordings. ...Card". Lisa wrote most of the songs on the album but received a little help from some friends for two songs by friends. There are also two covers: Bob Dylan's "You're A Big Girl Now" and Dan Penn's "Woman Left Lonely", which Janis Joplin has also sung. The tracks.. "I'm Gonna Live My Life (I'm Gonna Take My Time)", written by Dave Graney Dave Graney is also an Australian rock musician. His song "You're just too hip, baby" is well known and somewhat funky. Lisa used to sing backing vocals for Dave occasionally and sometime in 1994 he gave her a tape of his songs and she took this one on for her album. A engaging yet slow song with lots of repetition of the title line. The lyrics "I was just a quiet girl with a credit card to him" are in this song and so became this albums title.
