This album marks the 10 year anniversary of the release of Alanis' original 'Jagged Little Pill'.
I was such a fan of Alanis' 1995 album, 'Jagged Little Pill' that when I saw the acoustic version advertised in the summer of this year (2005) I purchased a copy almost immediately.
Apart from the fact that the songs are now heard as acoustic versions, there are some very subtle changes to the keys in which some of the songs are performed. "One hand in my pocket" for example, has sections that are distinctly more minor, making it a more interesting track than if it had simply been acoustic-ified!
The tracks are as follows:
1. All I Really Want 2. You Oughta Know 3. Perfect 4. Hand In My Pocket 5. Right Through You 6. Forgiven 7. You Learn 8. Head Over Feet 9. Mary Jane 10. Ironic 11. Not the Doctor 12. Wake Up
Overall, they are all more mellow, 'Head over feet' in particular - well, I only wish I'd heard this version before our wedding, we'd have had it as our first song, absolutely.
You may think that there might not be much point in buying this album if you already have the original, 1995 version, but believe me, this new acoustic version has become one of my top 5 albums of all time.
Buy it, and enjoy!

Simple and to the point. Good review. I loved the original of this so might have to get a copy of this version. N.x

I needed - and I'm sure everyone else who read the review also did - more info on the songs, price, reason why it's better, etc.
Advantages: Chilled out, familiar, still got that magic, more mature vocals make songs emotionally stronger. Disadvantages: Not really any new material but it does give you something new in sound and feel.
Advantages: A mellow, tuneful album - fabulous background dinner music! Disadvantages: Probably not a good choice if buying for someone who doesnt appreciate sole vocals!
