I was not aware that this album exsisted until my brother gave it to me as a present on my birthday in September but, boy, am I glad he did!!
I have always been a fan of alanis's work, Jagged Little Pill (original) was my first taste at the age of 14 of her brilliant works and am now the proud owner of four of her albums.
As my original Jagged Little Pill is somewhat lovingly worn I was pleased as punch - although a little dubious - when given the acoustic version. I did not need to be...
As an album is should not be confused as a money spinning rerelease of the original but should be celebrated for the work of art it is in its own right. All the rifts still maintain the magic of good music and the vocals are fantastic. All the songs (including the hidden track) have been transformed into mellow, relaxing melodies that you could even get away with playing in the background when your grandmas over for dinner.
It allows the listener to sing along, strum along or just quietly listen without having to be in an over excited loony state. In some cases the songs are that much more powerful.
I would not recommend buying this album for someone who does not perhaps appreciate the hard truths, thoughts and feelings that are expressed through this music but for anyone who enjoys her work as a brilliant musician this is a must have album for your collection!
Although the tracks themselves can not be described as original as they are the same lyrically as the first release of 'Jagged Little Pill', this melodic album as a whole is worth its weight in gold acousticly!

A confusing review there and I can see you are new. There was an enthusiasm for the music and then a certain hesitation when you said that none of the tracks are really original but that the record is worth its weight in gold.
