Advantages: Excellent tracks - no rubbish Disadvantages: No good if you don't like dance music
...I love dance music so maybe that makes the review seem little bias but where dance albums nowadays seem like 10 a penny, trying to find the ones that are the cream of the crop are becoming rare. So it made a refreshing change when I bough the latest gatecrasher album last week. The gatecrasher series has been on the go for awhile now with albums named after colours last few years (red, blue etc) these too are excellent mix albums. As is the new one GATECRASHER GLOBAL SOUNDSYSTEM. A 2cd 140 mins plus excursion of the best sound released/unreleased around. The tunes never stop coming and is one album you will not get bored of. Featuring tracks/remixes by Oliver Lieb (LSG) Bt, Moby, Paul Van Dyk, tracks from Hooj Choons label and Platipus. 33 tracks. The album is on cassette/lp/cd and limited cd and is available on incredible label which...

Advantages: Classic dance music from the best of the best! Disadvantages: Already have a lot of this music on CD so a bit of a waste of money
...What Is It?
The Ministry of Sound 'Anthems 1991- 2008' is a CD set which is a mixture of the best dance songs, mixed by the Ministry of Sound, over the last 17 years. This is a 3 CD box set which contains 63 famous dance anthems of the last 2 decades.

I am not old enough to have heard the stuff before around 2000 as I only got into dance music in the last 5 years and am only 15 so it adds up. Anyway I had heard a lot of the material on this CD on the radio and really enjoyed it, but I wanted now to be able to listen to it in the space of my own home on my i-pod of CD player.
Also the adverts on TV as well, they really intrigued me and after listening to the snippets of songs. It made me want to listen to dance music and the advert had...

The representation is great of the sounds of hard trance and full credit goes out on that point. Most of the good points in my mind are from the track selection to be honest.
The mixing is rubbish to say the least. I wouldn't consider this to be a particularly "commercial" mix collection, and therefore I wouldn't necessarily expect it to be a rushed attempt to get a CD put together for money with no thought put into the mixing. How disappointed I was! I don't like to use the word "shoddy" but I feel compelled to on this occasion on the account that anyone with even an hour's mixing experience could do better.
The artwork is completely unoriginal also and alone doesn't fill me...
