Advantages: Good mix of tunes Disadvantages: You may find you have most of the tracks already
...There are some excellent tracks on this album that no music collection should be without.
Even if you have some of the tracks already, it is nice to have a good compilation album to get them all in one place.
Although a lot of the tracks on this compilation are not exactly new, you do find yourself thinking "I'd forgotten how good this track was" as you listen through it.
You may even find a liking for a band that you had otherwise dissmissed by listening to this cd.
I never really got to grips with the Vines until hearing "ride" on this album, and it also rekindled my love for Janes Addiction, The Concrete's " you can't hurry love" is a must too.
This is well worth buying in my humble opinion....

Advantages: A great look at the influences of The Prodigy Disadvantages: This won't please their new commercial fans
...Why is this listed in techno? Liam Howlett gives an excellent showmanship on the wheels of steel, that gives a taste of Breaks and Hip Hop more than techno (don't see no Jeff Mills trickery here).
CD was released under the pretence of 'Prodigy presents Dirtchamber Sessions Vol.1' with the idea that there would be further releases, unfortunantely the new fanbase that had heard the infamous Firestarter and Breath tracks did not seem to keen on The Prodigy showing where their musical roots originally layed when they were a little younger and showing off what music they liked off the stage. Sadly further releases had the plug pulled on them...
Look at this album as not another installment of The Prodigy, but one phatt mix that is original and an insight to Liam Howlett's love of all music taking in the likes of Chemical Brothers, Jane...

Advantages: Comes with the lyrics to the songs. Also a really well put together CD booklet Disadvantages: Only the front & back covers are in color & photos inside are black & white
...guitars that give it a raw, less polished feel than most other artists that use this particular instrument. Although highly commercial sounding, in these days of music television, Ms Child has been greatly ignored by the giants of media broadcasting. Perhaps this is because her dread locked hair, facial piercings and general punkish appearance does not sit too well with her melodic yet funky brand of pop music.
All of the tracks on this album are written, performed and produced by Child. She also plays keyboards, and creates smooth, harmonious backing vocals using her own vocal talents. As far as style goes, think along the lines of Janet Jackson in her heyday, but with deeper lyrical meaning.
I would also classify Jane as alternative as well, mainly as she does not fit in most of the musical categories that are around these days. She really...
