Advantages: The whole experience was an advantage. Disadvantages: -
Having just returned from what I class as a well deserved break I thought I would write about the Hotel me and my family have just returned from. I decided at the last minute really that I would book us a weekend away and began to surf the net as you do looking for not only a bargain but a nice place to stay to boot.
The place I eventually chose with the help of my fiancé was the Ramada Jarvis hotel in Brighton, I have never stayed in a hotel in Brighton before having only visited once previously and having stayed in a bed and breakfast so I cannot compare it to other hotels in the Brighton area but I can compare it to other hotels throughout Britain and indeed Europe as I am fairly well travelled.
The first thing of note with this hotel is that it has a modern look without losing any grandeur, I often find modern hotels look ...
Advantages: Good leisure club, nice rooms Disadvantages: Unfriendly staff
The Jarvis Hotel is a couple of miles north of Bristol in an area called Winterbourne. As a former country house built in the mid 19th century and with extensive grounds it has every going for it as a hotel. The Jarvis group have spent a lot of money refurbishing the place including an excellent Poolside leisure Club with swimming pool, spa, solarium and under-utilised exercise equipment. As is often the case the pool is a little small and you soon learn how a goldfish must feel swimming around the same extent of water only about 6 times your body length.
The rooms in the old part of the hotel are quite spacious but you may find those in the newer part little better than a motorway lodge for size. They are clean and tidy and have the obligatory tea-making facilities. All rooms are en-suite. The bar is cramped but nearby is a huge ...
Advantages: excellent location and service Disadvantages: prices may seem a little steep if you want to stay sometime
The jarvis is a great place to stay. Set in a fantastic location upon the south coast. You are approx 5 mins from goodwood racecourse and motor circuit. At the right time of year you can see the glorious goodwood week and the world known festival of speed and revival festival held at the race circuit bringing back the memories of yester year.
You are also two minutes from Chichester town center and 30 mins from portsmouth and worthing.
The hotel itself is very stylish and as you pull up to it you feel the class it has. The entrance hall is like an inclosed paradise island courtyard. The reception is like a small building as is the hall and corridors to all rooms and facilities. The resurant is very nice and the food is of the highest order. The rooms are very spacious and they are clean and tidy plus the dont look old and shabby like ...

Album Notes
Issued in the U.K. during late 2006, Jarvis Cocker's solo debut finds the ex-Pulp frontman returning to the well-honed Britpop sound of his lauded former band after a brief stint heading up the Relaxed Muscle techno project. While JARVIS lacks the cinematic expanse of Pulp's swansong, WE LOVE LIFE, and the darkly brooding atmosphere of THIS IS HARDCORE, it hews fairly closely to the pop-savvy rock sound of HIS 'N' HERS and DIFFERENT CLASS. Cocker's deep croon and witty social observations are fully on display here, whether he's singing about an inappropriate lover ( "Don't Let Him Waste Your Time"), not so subtly alluding to murder (the deceptively gentle "I Will Kill Again"), or being assaulted by portly kids (the punked-up "Fat Children"). Joining Cocker are Pulp alum Mark Webber (guitar) and Steve Mackey (bass), along with six-stringer (and revered singer-songwriter) Richard Hawley. Although JARVIS may not eclipse past Pulp glories, it certainly honors their roguish spirit, and serves as an excellent showcase for Cocker's cheeky charm.
