piano time
Advantages: amazing piano improvisation Disadvantages: not for people who don't appreciate improvisation
One of the most respected pianists of our time, Keith Jarrett, gives with the "Koln concert" a good definition of what improvisation is. Innovation, creativity, the feeling of uncertainty. Keith Jarrett is the kind of pianist that emerged during the 60's deeply influenced by Bill Evans and got mixed up with all sorts of jazz styles: fusion, bop, funk, avant garde and even classical music. In this recording you can find all his musical influences, ... ...eyes, or maybe ears. The result is quite amazing, if you think that Keith Jarrett wnated to actually cancel this concert because the piano that he was provided with, was not of top quality. For people who love piano and moreover improvisation in general, this is certainly a priority choice. ...

My Jazzy 'Birth Of Cool' by Miles Davies Remastered.
Advantages: Excellent Jazz Album. Disadvantages: None!
...lot to me. This Birth of cool CD was re-mastered in 1998, as it originally was on a LP and sounded a bit crackly. Well this newer version is not perfect either, but it sure is a lot better sound quality than before. A further remake of this album called “The complete Birth Of Cool is now also available with lots more added tracks by Miles Davis and it sounds great. A Little Bit About Miles Davis. Miles Davis came onto the music scene in the ... ...worked on this Album The Birth of Cool for years before finally releasing it on LP in 1950. The original LP only had eight tracks featured on it and it was seven years later in 1957 that three further instrumental pieces where added to this album. This new album was released in February that year by Capitol records. Miles Davies is no longer around and sadly died in 1991. Fact In The Simpson’s series of cartoons. A Great Summer Album
Advantages: Great to listen to in the sunshine. Disadvantages: Need to be in the right mood to enjoy it
The most recent studio album released under Norman Cook's Fatboy Slim moniker, was a shift in style compared to his earlier albums. Instead of his previous dependence on vocal loops Cook decided to take things back to basics (sort of) and use live instruments and vocals as well as more traditional song structures. However, compared to those earlier albums, the critical consensus was pretty bleak, with review ranging from the okay to the bad. When ... ...it's initial release, I had a similar opinion, I thought the album was distinctly okay. Nothing special. Last year though, something strange happened, I listened to the album again (flicking through iPod), and it was brilliant, funky, smooth and relaxing, it was then that I worked out why the album suddenly appealed to me so much more. I was on my holidays, sunbathing in the Caribbean (I don't mean to sound flash, just giving a bit of important context.). ...

Fabulously Theatrical, Eerily Poignant
Advantages: An array or different song types and genres, with enormous vocals, and musical climaxes. Disadvantages: Very few, arguably some of the tracks are too long or repetitive.
I was sadly not around when 'Bat Out Of Hell' hit the charts in 1977, but I'm glad I was here to see this. 'Welcome To The Neighborhood' is, for me, the perfect introduction one could have into the world of MeatLoaf. It features twelve vastly diverse tracks ranging from the tremulous and emotionally draining 'Left In The Dark', to the sinister and wonderfully obscene 'Where The Rubber Meets The Road'. So diverse are the tracks compiled in this album, ... ...It certainly is an album that grows on you over time, and I would without hesitation recommend it to any fan of rock music, classical music, opera and even latin jazz, as is bizarrely found in a short interlude song. The album is set out like a musical, and many of the songs reflect this style, particularly 'Not A Dry Eye In The House', which is a tragedy about a betrayed man, reflecting on his naivety. 'Left In The Dark' also follows this theme, ...
