of the front screen pillars causes an MPV type blind spot approaching certain traffic junctions. Secondly, Honda really should have gone the extra mile and fitted this car, in common with European "big windscreen" cars with central parking "clap-hands" windscreen wipers. The current wipers leave large unswept areas at the top of the windscreen, which in heavy rain on the M25 is not a great safety aid.
Otherwise the view, front, back and immediately to the sides is unparalleled in my experience. From this point of view it always feels a much bigger car than it is. That in a good way! Reverse parking in a Jazz is particularly easy, as is positioning it on the road.
This would make a perfect "first" car for a newly qualified driver.
SPACE: 9 / 10: Small cars are cramped inside.
This one isn't!

Having endured a horrifying M5 breakdown in my 5 year old Escort not long ago, I decided the time was right for a new car. And I wanted brand new, in the hope that I would be guaranteed a few years trouble-free motoring (and hopefully no sudden expenses) with a good warranty and some peace of mind.
In my new car, I wanted the following features:
Light and easy to drive
Comfortable seating and leg room in the back
Fuel economy
A good sounding stereo
Affordable insurance
Quiet and reasonably powerful engine
Safety
Good looks
Flexibility (i.e. can take large packages/suitcases etc when necessary)
A make with a strong reputation for reliability
Extra gizmos
Under (preferably considerably under) £10,000
A lot to ask? Yes, but then along came the Honda Jazz?
Criteria 1: Light and easy to drive

My late Father would have approved of this CD. For this, he would have said, was real Jazz. "Not like this modern rubbish!"
My father's idea of real Jazz was music by the greats of the 1920 and 1930s. Jack Teagarden, for example. Mezz Mezzrow, was another of his heroes. And perhaps some of the early Louis Armstrong.
Well, two out of three ain't bad. There's no Mezz Mezzrow on this CD, but there is plenty of Jack Teagarden and some early Louis Armstrong, too. There's also Lester Young and ArtieShaw, too.
I have to agree with my dad. This rocks. Well, perhaps not rocks, but I think you know what I mean!
Jack Teagarden's jazz is the ultimate in smoooooth jazz. Until he really wanted to become lively, then it was as if you were listening to an entirely different orchestra. The first two Jack Teagarden and his Orchestra tracks ...
